Health Care For Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Emergency Housing

The Health Care for Homeless Veterans(HCHV) program provides emergencyhousing for homeless Veterans at anon-VA community based facility.While in the program Veterans receivecase management, treatment, andrecovery services to aid with searchingfor permanent housing. HCHV providesservices to single men, women, andfamilies with children. There is noprogram fee, but Veterans may be askedto save a portion of their income to helpsecure permanent housing.

Grant And Per Diem (GPD) Transitional Housing

The Grant and Per Diem (GPD) programprovides transitional housing and sup­portive services for homeless Veterans at a non-VA community agency. Supportiveservices include case management,financial planning education, crisisintervention, counseling, and groupactivities. GPD serves single male andfemale Veterans. Veterans who haveincome may be expected to contributeup to 30 percent of their income as aprogram fee. GPD programs are operatedby community based organizations andfunction independently from the VA.
