Special environmental and working conditions in mining

A respiratory device used in mining may be subjected to:

• rough usage and vibrations• quick temperature changes • quick pressure changes• corrosive substances• low or high humidity• splashes of water • high dust concentrations• high breathing rates because of heavy work• maybe an explosive atmosphere

Furthermore the situation is often you have restricted escape ways and long distances to go.

Temperature of inhaled breathing gas max. 45 °C / 50 °Cbreathing resistance max. 8 mbar (50 l/min) and 11 mbar (75 l/min)

The suitcase RPD is placed on the backseat.

The wearer gets air via a medium pressure air line.

Before hand- und On-site inspection



The suitcase with the air supply can be transported by the wearer. He will be

supplied with breathable air via the medium pressure hose.

The combination of the compressed airline apparatus with a self contained breathing apparatus allows to leave

the vehicle without the suitcase


The suitcase can be carried by the wearer.The self contained breathing

apparatus is operating as an emergency air supply and allows to leave without the suitcase.
