New National Curriculum 2014
• New National Curriculum 2014 for Key stage 1 and 2 (Years 1-6)
• To offer a curriculum that is balanced and broad • Now “Year group” expectations – rather than levels• A curriculum that promotes spiritual, moral, cultural,
mental and physical development – both at school and in society (Praised highly Ofsted 2013)
• Prepares pupils at the school for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences for later life.
• Also to teach Religious education – a locally agreed policy
– Also, personal, social, health and economic education
Assessment• Sats tests 2015 – both Y2 and Y6 sats will
be assessed as present – in levels• From September 2014 – levels as we know,
are no longer a statutory requirement – schools can devise their own systems…
• Our assessment will move to year group expectations, in line with the new curriculum –further details during the autumn term
• From September 2015 – an on entry assessment in FS2, statutory from 2016
• Year 1 phonics check summer term - remains
Reading
• We have high attainment at both Key stage one and Key stage two
• We want to encourage all parents to read with their child every day

Attendance• Holidays – school term declined in
line with LA/school policy• Insets 2014-15 arranged to
support parents – cheaper holidays
• Children’s attendance >97% as at 1.7.2014 – fantastic…..
PTFA• They work really hard to raise
additional funds for school.• Have you time to help ??
