Taylor Possail will enter his second season as the head coach of the women’s basketball team in the Fall of 2018. Prior to becoming head coach, he spent three seasons as the assistant coach for the Cougars. In four total seasons with Columbia,
Possail helped lead the program to a 103-30 (.774) mark.
In his first season as head coach, Possail led the team to an impressive 28-6 record on the season and 23-1 mark in conference play while guiding his squad to both the AMC regular season and tournament titles. He led his team to a school record 22 game winning streak and was named the AMC Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
During his time at Columbia, Possail has coached 7 All-American award winners, 14 AMC All-Conference players, 35 AMC Academic All-Conference players and 8 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Following the 2016-2017 season, Coach Possail was awarded the WBCA Assistant Coach of the Year award.
The Cougars have set numerous records in the four seasons that Possail has been in Columbia. During the 2016-2017 season the Cougars held opponents to a school best 56.4 points per game. They also shattered the program three-point record with 290 made 3’s. In the 2015-2016 season Possail was on staff as the Cougars reached a program milestone of receiving a top #3 ranking in the NAIA Coaches Poll.

2018 Cougar Girls’ Basketball Camp Hosted by the Columbia College Women’s Basketball Staff and Team, specifically designed for the female athlete to emphasize the fundamentals of basketball on an individual and team basis. Campers will receive instruction directly from the Cougar coaching staff and players. Campers will have a chance to work on a variety of skills in the game of basketball, plus an opportunity to play 5-on-5 and compete in other contests and games.

Site and FacilitiesThe renovated and air-conditioned Southwell Complex, featuring the Bob Burchard Court, and the student recreation center house all camp activities. The spacious facility offers room for numerous camp stations and courts on hardwood floors. All campers will arrive at and depart from the Complex through the main entrance off Pannell Street. Allow for timely arrival and departure.
What to BringEach camper should come appropriately dressed to play basketball. Shorts, t-shirt, socks, basketball shoes, and a water bottle are standard. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.
