Surface finish:

Products available in 10mm and external use thicknesses may vary in surface finish. The 10mm internal use tiles are slightly smoother than their external equivalent flagstones.

Both internal and external Vitripiazza products have the required anti-slip rating for their applications.

Vitripiazza is high quality, vitrified, porcelain paving. Vitripiazza offers 78 different colours across 25 beautiful ranges, with a wide selection of accessories to create the perfect finishing touches.

Our beautiful range of porcelain landscaping products offer Homeowners the ultimate choice when it comes to quality, durability, longevity and style delivering the following benefits:

• All product sizes, weights and coverages stated throughout this Directory are nominal.

• We recommend that Vitripiazza is only installed using Pavetuf Priming Slurry and jointed with either our Jointing Mortar, Compound or Grout (see page 97-99). If these products are not used for Vitripiazza installation purposes, the integrity of the paved system is outside our recommended guide and will forfeit any technical support.

• We advise that the installer mixes flagstones from multiple packs when installing any Vitripiazza product to avoid any potential colour banding. As Vitripiazza products are produced in batches, we advise that sufficient product for each project is purchased together and from the same batch, as there may be slight colour variations between different batches. Also mixing different size formats, different pack sizes and mixing from multiple packs may result in colour variations, so care needs to be taken when designing and ordering these products.

Please note:

Full bodied porcelain: The entirety of the tiles are made from high quality clay and are fired at high temperatures making them denser, harder and less porous than ceramic alternatives. These are made using a mixture of clay and other materials and have a thin layer of glaze or matte finish on the surface and do not give the same durability as a full bodied porcelain.

Natural beauty: Each porcelain flagstone offers a varied colour blend, with numerous pattern connotations to reflect natural landscaping materials.

Stain resistant: The low porosity of Vitripiazza means that spills and general soiling cannot soak into the flag, making them easier to clean and resistant to staining.

Slip resistance: All external Vitripiazza products have an anti-slip rating of 11 or higher, which exceeds industry minimum requirements.

Understanding our Vitripiazza products

Rectified: The edges are machine cut after firing, giving a consistent size with 90 degree angles allowing for minimal joint widths and crisp lines.

Non Rectified: The flags are fired and then sorted into work sizes which have a + / - 0.75mm tolerance. Each product can have up to 5 different working sizes. Please check packaging for consistent batch and work size information prior to opening and allow for variable joint widths.

Matching Internal Options: Matching internal options available to order, please allow 3-4 weeks lead time.

Strong & hard wearing: Resistant to attack from moss and mould - Resistant to salt and acid - Non absorbent (<0.1%) - Frost resistant.

Bring the outside in: In addition to 18mm - 30mm thick flagstones, designed for external use, some of the Vitripiazza ranges have a matching 10mm thick tile, for internal use, to enable a continuity of floor design from home to garden. Some ranges offer a new 9.5mm thick tile that is suitable for both internal and external use.

PLEASE NOTE: Natural stone products are uniquely formed through geological processes, making each piece of stone characteristically subject to colour variations, veining, markings and occasional charming imperfections. As no two pieces are identical, natural stone products offer Homeowners a truly bespoke

landscaping option.

Because of the nature of the product and potential colour variations, we recommend mixing product FROM ALL PACKS on site, to prevent colour banding.

Understanding our Natural Paving products

Flamed Undergoes a flaming process to give a texture.

Sawn Cut to give a smooth, straight surface/edge.

Honed Lightly polished to give a smooth finish.

Tumbled/Rumbled Literally tumbled to give a weathered, aged, antique finish.

Bevelled Where a stone edge has been cut at a slight angle, also referred to as a chamfered edge.

Hand Cut Stone that has been hand split and left natural, leaving a flagstone that will vary in thickness. Hand cut stone is an economical option and provides a more traditional finish with greater variance in the riven surface.

Calibrated Stone that has been machine cut to give a consistent, nominal thickness. Calibrated stone is useful where weight and/or limited depth for laying the product is an issue. It is easier to install than non calibrated stone and can also be used internally.

Benefits of natural stone over concrete:

Improves with age: Concrete can weather to expose the aggregates within it over time, becoming unsightly, whereas natural stone will retain its colour and beauty with age.

Natural beauty: Given that these are natural products, it is rare for any 2 pieces to be the same, displaying different shades and colour blends and occasional fossil prints, adding a character and personality that cannot be found in concrete.

Easier to maintain: Homeowners can enjoy their outdoor living space instead of maintaining it! Concrete will need more cleaning and heavy maintenance, whereas natural stone may only need some occasional cleaning.

Simple production: Unlike man-made products, stone is a truly natural product simply taken from the ground and processed using low energy machinery, as opposed to needing high energy, fuel-burning processes that pump vast amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, as there is when making concrete products.

PremiastoneBirch is a granite product that undergoes a ‘flaming’ process, to create a lightly textured surface, with occasional natural veins. Birch is ideal for creating light and modern outdoor family spaces.

Maple is a sandstone with sawn cut edges and a honed surface, that reveals a beautiful natural vein effect.

Maple has a beautiful and varied colour palette, with each shade differing in strength of colour and tone. Some pieces also carry a distinctive veining. In order to achieve the desired colour pattern and prevent colour banding all packs should be opened and pieces mixed before installation.

With 6 inspiring colours that individually create a stunning finish, they can also be mixed and matched to incorporate contrasting borders and areas, in order to create unique designs. Resiscape Spirit Cleaner - 5ltrThe Resiscape Spirit Cleaner is designed for use during the installation of resin bound systems. The Cleaner can be used to clean the trowel used for installation as well as the forced action mixer, to prevent the resin/aggregate mix from sticking to these tools and curing. We recommend installers regularly clean the mixer and trowel during installation to aid application.

Top Tip: For a very even finish, apply the Resiscape Spirit Cleaner to the trowel and smooth over the laid surface.

Resiscape Primer - 5ltrResiscape Primer is recommended when installing onto a concrete surface creating a stronger bond between the resin and the sub-base. Each 5ltr tin covers around 30m2 and can be applied using a decorator’s roller brush.

Resiscape Accelerator - 200ml & 5ltr The Resiscape Accelerator can be used to speed up the curing time of the laid system if the air temperature is cooler than 20°C.

If the accelerator is not used, it can take longer than 24 hours for the system to fully cure in cooler temperatures. Refer to www.resiscape.co.uk for details on how much accelerator is required for a 24 hours curing period, in different temperatures.

Resiscape Crushed Glass - 6.25kgResiscape Crushed Glass can be used during installation to provide extra anti-slip to the surface. The glass must be scattered over the tacky surface sparingly, to avoid any patches of glass which could then affect the colour of the installation. When scattered sparingly a 6.5kg bag can cover approximately 13m2.

The Reinforced Resiscape Matting System is an innovative paving system that provides a decorative and natural looking permeable surface without the need for a concrete or asphalt base.

This system can be applied directly on to most suitable surfaces and gradients with minimum digging or edging required. An ideal replacement for self binding surfaces or overlaying concrete, tiles or block paved areas - subject to survey.

The innovative structured build-up ensures a SUDS compliant surface allowing water to drain through the product when installed onto a compacted MOT Type 3 sub base or similar.

This system is suitable for pedestrian footpaths or areas subject to trafficking by light vehicles and driveways.

About our ProductsProducts and materials, unless otherwise stated, are for domestic landscaping projects.

The product names of our Natural Paving range do not always relate to the geology of the stone.

All of our natural stone products vary in colour and texture. Each individual piece will have distinct markings and may contain natural imperfections and defects. Size variations will also occur and unfortunately this means we cannot guarantee particular sizes. All product dimensions are nominal and calibrated products are subject to variations. Traditional and processed stone materials may result in some delamination of the surface of our products. Many of our products are manufactured in batches, some product characteristics can vary from batch to batch. To avoid variation of colour between batches we recommend ordering enough product to complete the entire project. When ordering 2 or more packs, the product should be mixed from multiple packs to avoid colour banding.

Please note that customers need to cater for wastage when ordering our products. As a result of the natural characteristics, production and transportation methods of the stone up to 10% of any order may be unusable due to any of the following reasons (including without limitation): chips, blemishes, surface variations, breakages and discolouration. Therefore customers should order an additional 10% in the volume of product required.

A sufficient volume of product (in addition to this 10% uplift) may also be required to cover paver/tile positioning and any wastage caused by cuts in the installation process.

Over time, environmental conditions will impact on our products which may attract lichen, algae and/or other organic growths and the appearance of our products may be affected. The correct periodic cleaning of all of our products is recommended.

Due to the composition of natural stone and as its mineral content oxidises, colour variations may also occur. Some stones may suffer from efflorescence or staining from jointing, bedding and fixing compounds/mortar. How to Install and Product CareCareful consideration must be given to the installation and care of our products. You should seek technical advice at all stages from your stockist, designer or installer as to the care of the particular product you have purchased.

In particular please be aware that you should consider whether the product can be used for the purpose you require. Also please note that some sealers and certain other materials can damage all of our products. Staining of our products can occur if they are not cared for or are used incorrectly. Specialist advice should always be sought if you are in any doubt. Health and SafetyWe would recommend that you take extreme care when dealing with our products. In particular, many of our products are heavy and awkward in shape to lift. We recommend that suitable lifting equipment is used.

Crated products should be stacked within the limitations of the ground conditions and of the security of the pallet. We would recommend stacking crates / pallets of product no more than two high.

Appropriate protective clothing should be worn at all times and health and safety legislation should be adhered to when working with our products. When cutting our products either with chisels or rotary disc cutters it is essential that suitable eye protection is worn. Always ensure that suitable respiratory protection is worn to avoid the inhalation of dust particles produced by high speed cutting devices.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all applicable health and safety legislation and guidelines. For further important details about health and safety please refer to and act in accordance with all current health and safety standards and regulations.
