Preparing for Next Sunday The Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

The first reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah proclaims a message of hope and joy, saying that the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Saint Paul in the second reading urges the Corinthians to put aside rivalries, and instead be united in their faith in Christ. Today’s Gospel relates how Jesus calls Peter and Andrew to put down their nets and come and follow him.

With a deficit of $3,176.00 this week, we cannot operate the church. I beg you to take seriously your commitment to God through your church. Please consider increasing your offerings. You can use your envelope with a check or cash or you can just donate with your credit or debit card. You can donate online or in the parish office.

Confirmation Save the Date - Spaghetti Fundraiser! Back by popular demand, the annual Spaghetti Fundraiser will be back on Sunday, January 29th. Pre-sale tickets are $7 until January 22nd and can be purchased from Confirmation II candidates on Wednesdays at Faith Formation or after the weekend Mass. Winter Quarter Parents Meeting All 2017 parents are reminded to attend the mandatory Winter Quarter Parents Meeting on Sunday, January 22 at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall. If the parents are not able to attend, an adult representative may attend in their absence. Please do not bring small children. After the meeting, parents will join their candidates at the 12:00 PM Fourth Sunday Family Mass. Fourth Sunday Rosary Parishioners are invited every fourth Sunday of the month at 11:30 AM at the OLMC rosary walk, to pray the rosary. Confirmation II candidates will lead the Glorious Mysteries.

Collection for the Church in Latin America Next Weekend

Many unique challenges face the Church in that region. A lack of priests and trained lay ministers, high emigration rates, and the alarming pace at which parishioners are leaving the faith make it difficult for the region’s Church to provide for the faithful. Please give generously in next week’s collection.

Muchos desafíos únicos está afrontando la Iglesia en esa región.
