Support a culture of responsible research conduct attheir institution and in their field of practice.
Provide guidance and mentorship on responsibleresearch conduct to other researchers or researchtrainees under their supervision and, where appropriate,monitor their conduct.
Undertake and promote education and training inresponsible research conduct.
Comply with the relevant laws, regulations, disciplinarystandards, ethics guidelines and institutional policiesrelated to responsible research conduct. Ensure thatappropriate approvals are obtained prior to thecommencement of research, and that conditions of anyapprovals are adhered to during the course of research.
Ensure that the ethics principles of research merit andintegrity, justice, beneficence and respect are applied tohuman research.
Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanderpeoples and respect their legal rights and local laws,customs and protocols.

Ensure that the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction andRefinement) are considered at all stages of researchinvolving animals and minimise the impacts onanimals used in research and in so doing support thewelfare and wellbeing of these animals.
Adopt methods appropriate to the aims of the researchand ensure that conclusions are justified by the results.

- When a Student creates an application, they must assign a Staff member as the Chief Investigator.- They must add themselves as an investigator on the form to see the application.- They can find the application by searching for the record number in ‘quick find’.
