Do it for the People!!The Houston Christian girls choir sings an encore performance before the judge. The Houston Christian girls choir was the most applauded performance throughout all of ISAS.
Back to BackAfter performing here in Houston, the theatre team puts on a show in San Antonio. Their musical “Spamalot” received many awards and accolades in competition.

Fine Arts ISAS Trip
Comedy SportzSenior Remy Garfield really gives it his all in the Comedy Sportz competition. Houston Christian came in second place overall throughout all of the SPC competition in the high school Comedy Sportz league.
The Coffee HouseAnalis Chaves, Kenzie Brown, and Julia Davis sing songs underneath the coffee house tent. This tent served the purpose of being a nice place to uniwnd among all of the crowds and noise.

Flower PowerSophomores Savannah Robertson, Mary Catherine Greaney, and Rebekah Brazelton enjoy the picnic at the ISAS trip. Rebekah and Mary Catherine had lead rolls in the winter musical.
Powder Puff Week 2015-2016
Seniors or Senior Citizens?Bree Perry and Liz Olinde got out their night gowns and canes for Generation Day! Freshmen dressed up as babies, Sophomores were toddlers, Juniors dressed as parents, and Seniors were senior citizens. Bree says, “I enjoyed generation day, because we basically got to wear pajamas.”
International DayAshlyn Way and Sarah Byars show off their school spirit by dressing up as toddlers for Generation Day! Ashlyn says, ”Powder Puff week is so much fun because we got to dress up instead of wearing our uniform!”

Mardi GrasSophomores Savannah Robertson, Elsa Abra-hamsson Jeni Obeid, and Dahna Deghany were all very festive on Mardi Gras Monday! Jeni says, “Mardi Gras Day was awesome because everyone wore beads!”
Junior SpiritJuniors, Maya Claypool, Linnea Mosvold, and Sheyra Aggarwal celebrate their heritage by carrying their nationalities flag.
All SmilesDahna Deghany, Jeni Obeid, Rachael Nichols, and Ashley Xu all participated in the flag cer-emony. International Day had over 24 nations represented.

Junior Players Kristen Mohlman, Sydney Welling, Emma Brown, and Gillian Grace smile for a picture before the game starts. “Although I was scared to play, I am so glad that I did,” said Sydney.
Team Captain Taylor Buchanan was the quarterback for the junior class. “I practiced a lot before the game and had so much fun playing,” says Taylor Buchanan.
Seniors A.KA. Victor’s Senior girls dress out in teal blue for the powder puff game. All the girls were very excited to avenge themselves from last years defeat from the previous seniors.

Seniors take it againAfter a long and hard fought game, the seniors end up on top with a win over the juniors 39-30! Krista Green and Emily Kaestner snag a picture with this year’s 2015-2016 powder puff champion trophy.
Senior coaches MVP offensive coordinator coach Matt Metoyer leads the offense to score 39 points, with the help of Harrison Bar-ton head coach, and assitant coaches Doug Simpson, Chris Crawford, and Ahonore Varner.

Kiss Me I’m IrishSeirra Wilbur, Grace Lawson, Sonia Kerrigan and Gio Piosl perfrom a traditional Irish dance. Sonia says, “I have been doing Irish dance for nine years and like it because it is fun and unique.”
Berry Gordy Shariff Wilson acts like Berry Gordy during the Black History wax muesem. Sharrif’s said that he liked, “the emotions of the crowds faces experiencing different cultures and religions!”
Mandarin Pslams Mrs. Chang’s Mandarin classes present Psalms in Mandarin.
Una Bailarina Bonita Sophmore Rachael Nichols prefoms the traditional Spanish dance called Flamenco. Rachael says, “Seno-ra Laura asked me and a few other girls to preform and we had to choreograph it ourselves.”

Hi-Ya!German exchange student, Tarkan Ertan uses his bare hands to chop wood in half. “Well I like breaking stuff in general, it’s just this cool feeling that I have when I break something and when I can break boards for a reason, like rep-resenting a country. It doesn’t sound as weird anymore.”

New OrleansThe fine arts students are busy learning about New Orleans architecture. “I really enjoyed spending time with my friends and visiting New Orleans while being on the trip.” - Caroline Pearce

HC @ SPCHC runs, jumps, and scores into victory
Every Second CountsJunior Richard Hansen the led the Boys 4x400m relay, helping HC get third in the event by only a fraction of a second. Richard Hansen, Harrison Swiggart, Will Bates and Will Vail also set a new HC record of 3:25.74 minutes.
Hopping over HurdlesIn the 300m hurdles, Sophomore, Matt Christopherson ran a time of 44.78 seconds. This is also Matt’s first year of doing hurdles.
SPC
Serving a Victory at SPCThe HC Men’s tennis team competed in the SPC Championships for tennis. They came in third place after winning two sets.
Match Set PointHC girl’s team went in as the tenth seed and they finished in seventh place. They had beat Kinkaid in their match.
The Last at BatSeniors Erick Garza, Matt Metoyer, Michael Raitt and Jordan Gochenour went up to SPC Championships at St. Mark’s School. SPC is also their last game playing for HC

Emily Calkins made the top 10 in golf, with
an 8th place finish qualifying her for All
SPC honors.
Richard Hansen, who is the Track SPC champion in both the
200 and 400 meter dash and was a part of the 2nd place and
school record 4 by 100 relay and 3rd place and
school record 4 by 400 relay.

#Selfie Seniors Caroline Angell, Harrison Barton, Gentry Barton, and her date take pictures in the photo booth at prom. “Prom was so much fun be-cause as a senior we got to spend one last fun night all together,” says Caroline Angell.
Last Prom Seniors Emily Kaestner and Harrison Swiggart pose for prom pictures. Emily and Harrison have been dating for a year. “Prom was amazing. I loved the venue this year and my favorite part was seeing everyone dressed up, and dancing with Harrison,” says Emily.

When in Rome Senior Madeline Fordham asks Sophomore Sam Whitaker to prom. Sam and Madeline went on the school Italy trip together where they became friends.
Out of all the Fish in the Sea... Alec DelSota asks Gracie Bailliet to prom at the Downtown Aquarium. Alec and Gracie have been dating for six months.

The HandoffSenior, Katie Furman, hands down a red shirt to junior, Bryce Arvin. They can’t even wear them until the last week of school.
Friends till the EndCaitlin Clarke and Taylor Buchanan walk down the aisle to-gether. “My favorite part about the red shirt ceremony were the seniors speeches and receiving my red shirt from one of my best friends, Caitlin Clarke,” says Taylor.

Seniors are special too
Ready to Go! Will Spaulding, a future student at Southwestern, is ready to get his awards. He has played football during his years at HCHS. “I will miss this place but I am happy to be moving on in life”
Go Army! Stoetzer Gray has made some remarkable accomplishments. He has completed all of the Boy Scout merit badges and is an excellent student. He is seen in the picture above getting an acceptance letter from West Point.
Senior Chapel
SKA This is the last time all of the seniors will be in a picture together. They are all happy to be moving forward in their lives but also are sad they won’t be seeing some of their friends everyday once they move off to different colleges.
Go Navy! Jordan Rapp receives his acceptance letter from the United States Naval Academy. He has been working very hard to be admitted into the Academy and now it finally paid off. He is looking forward to his experience there.
Distinguished Scholars Phillip Schwartz, Jake Byars, Jordan Rapp, Jonathan Sun, Alec DelSota, Kylan Kinkaid, and Sofia Vasquez are all students enrolled in DSP. Throughout their years at HCHS they have been working very hard on one research topic.
