Amen.

Next Summer Cook-Out Scheduled for Wednesday, July 12th

Soles4Souls Event Coming Soon! We Need Your Shoes!

~ Announcements for June 25, 2017 ~

Your old shoes can still provide miles of smiles for someone who doesn’t need a Fitbit to indicate they’ve walked enough each day. This is the 7th year Haygood has collected new and used shoes for Soles4Souls, which distributes new shoes to those in need in the US and abroad and recycles used shoes thru micro-enterprises in developing countries. Last year we collected over 1000 shoes, let’s see if we can beat that this year!

You can bring your shoes to Haygood starting July 30th

or simply leave them on the Lawn, once school starts on August 1st. It’s a neighborhood event! And we have our lawn back this year to catch the attention of our neighbors. So, dig deep in your closet corners and find those shoes you’ll never use. They’ll help someone whose way is probably a little less paved than yours.

Mark these Dates:

from July 30th – Put shoes in the bins inside Haygood’s entries.

from Aug. 1st – Leave shoes on our Lawn.

Aug. 9th, 6:30 p.m., after our first Wednesday Night Supper since May – Help us pair, sort and bag shoes for delivery to the Soles4Souls warehouse in Alabama.

Join Haygood for a Summer cook-out, in the Ecker Fellowship Hall, on Wednesday, July 12th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hotdogs, burgers, and all your cook-out favorites will be on the menu. All are welcome! The cost of the meal is $10/Adults and $5/Kids, with a $30/Family Max. Please make your reservation in a timely manner by visiting:

www.haygoodumc.org/Wednesday-nights.

Mission Ministry Wednesday Night Suppers Resume August 9th!

Combined Summer Sunday School Class Going on Now! Join Us Next Week!

~ Announcements for June 25, 2017 ~

A combined adult Sunday School class meets in the Parlor at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. The class studies Adam

Hamilton’s video series on Moses. All are welcome and we’d love to see you there!

The class is led by Wally Rice. No homework assignments allowed!

Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to Intown, including those that donated during VBS! On Wednesday, June 14th, we packed up all the recent donations and took them to the pantry. VBS participant, Evan Smith (Rising Kindergartener), helped load up the car. Intown Food Bank’s new location is at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church on Ponce de Leon Ave. Haygood is specifically asked to provide juice, soup (canned or dried) and snacks, but all nonperishable items are welcome. Please place them in the two collection bins in the Gym Lobby. Let’s help make sure the pantry is full throughout the summer! Thanks your support!

Friends, we know we are just midway through June, but August will be here before we know it and with that we will welcome back our Wednesday Night Suppers! These suppers are a great way to interact with each other, fellowship, and break bread together. If you’ve never been to a Wednesday Night Supper, make plans to try one once they resume on August 9th! The food is fantastic and catered by Ali’s Catering. Stay tuned for more information as the date approaches, but we hope to see you Wednesday nights, starting August 9th, at 5:30 p.m.!
