This year, we're excited about several opportunities that our families have to make a difference in the lives of others. Our Toys for Tots drive wraps up this Friday December 19th and we've already collected many, many toys for local children. Thank you to all of you who have contributed towards this cause. When we come back from Thanksgiving Break, we'll be hosting a canned food drive to benefit the Placer Food Bank (see flyer below). Students can bring in canned and boxed foods into our gym each day to drop off in bins that will go directly to families in need. Immediately after the break, we'll also be holding a pajama drive to benefit foster children in Placer County. We'll have bins in our front office for collecting new pajamas and books that will be given to children. We're also excited to host another restaurant night in December with the proceeds going to help Glen Edwards Middle School who suffered a devastating fire recently. Three classrooms were destroyed along with a great deal of P.E. equipment. These funds will help support our teachers and students in Lincoln who have been affected by this tragedy. We're thrilled to offer these opportunities for our students to help others in need right in our local community. We hope you'll consider participating wherever you might be able to. If you have any questions about the pajama or canned food drive, please contact Ismara Contratto at [email protected] . Here's to having a positive impact on the lives of others! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 1 of 13

THANKS TO THOSE WHO MADE OUR EVENT SPECIAL! We had an incredible Veterans Day celebration this past Friday. We want to thank Mr. Kovach and Ms. Mele who worked incredibly hard to put the presentation together. We also want to thank Cyndie Willis, Mrs. Willis' mother Bonnie Turner, Michelle Dabalos, and Kathleen Cummings for helping with the refreshments for our guests. Most of all, we want to thank our students who sang with all of their

hearts and behaved in such a respectful manner. We received countless words of praise from our special guests about how impressed they were with our student body. It was an amazing time together and we can't wait until next year! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

WHAT A PARTY!! Mr. Toy and the space station staff would like to thank the Sun City Astronomy Club volunteers, parents, students and the weather for making our first "family science night" a great success! Around 150 people braved the cold night to attend a planetarium show, observe Jupiter, the moon and galaxies through telescopes and listened to a real NASA scientist give a brief presentation about galaxies. Everyone that attended left feeling starry eyed about the world around them.

We want to send out a special thank you to Lauren Santoro for helping with sign-ups, Ninna Mazzo and five fellow astronomers from the Sun City Astronomy Club, Dr. David Wood who is a retired NASA scientist, and Lloyd Townsend one of our TBE dads who brought a large telescope. We also want to thank you to the PTC for funding part of this event. Our next family science night will take place in early Spring. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THANKS TO LOWE'S We want to send out a big thank you to one of our awesome dads, Ben Wagner and the company he works for, Lowe's of Lincoln, for their generous donation of a garden shed for our garden and bird clubs. Our students and staff are excited to have a larger and more accessible location to store their supplies for our various outdoor learning clubs at TBE. We're so grateful for the generosity of our parents and local businesses!

IT'S OVER-FLOWING! If you are missing any jackets or sweatshirts, please be sure to check our lost & found bin located behind the office. During Thanksgiving break, anything that has not been claimed and does not have a name on it will be donated to

charity. As a reminder, please write your child's name on the tags of all jackets and sweatshirts. This allows us to return clothing to its rightful owner! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
