The way offices are being used, the way people are working and the technology they use is evolving fast.The challenges for organisations are many, but there are some common goals across business; increase flexibility, increase productivity, encourage collaboration, make work a destination, build brand collateral and recognition, reduce cost and of course do it all faster and more efficiently.

To try and embrace this, more agile workplaces are being created with the focus upon activity rather than presence, this has become widely know as ‘activity based planning’.

The Evolution of the Office

It is against this background that Allermuir has developed Haven Pods, an innovative solution and location for both focus and sharing.

Haven Pods create unique spaces which can be installed easily within current environments delivering solutions for concentration, meeting, sharing and demarcation of space.

The innovative geometric design enables Haven Pods to nestle and tessellate to maximise available space, allowing the creation of a community of environments and destinations.

Ideal for either an individual within a desk based environment looking for a space to concentrate or a temporary place to work, or for teams to gather for formal or impromptu

meetings, presentations or to simply relax away from busier environments.

Solo PlusSolo Plus builds upon the functionality of the Solo but has a larger footprint and wider work surface. Solo Plus incorporates desktop power and vertical cable management.

SoloSolo provides a solution for short term desk based environments, be it for individual focused work away from the general workstation environment or as a temporary location for a non desk based employee. Solo incorporates desktop power and vertical cable management.

QuadProviding a compact stand alone meeting solution for up to four people, its footprint easily allows the Quad to be positioned strategically. It can be placed amongst workspaces individually, in clusters as a meeting place or as a booth seating solution. Quad incorporates bench seating along its sides and a stand alone table.

DuoMost impromptu meetings within the office environment will tend to be within small groups, at workstations which disrupts colleagues. Formal meeting spaces tend to be for larger groups, so using these is inefficient. Duo provides a location for ad-hoc, face to face meetings and its compact footprint allows it to be collocated within workstation environments. Duo incorporates a table top power solution and vertical cable management.

Haven Pods have been designed to work as a furniture system rather than a more complex architectural screen or partition system. Therefore they have no impact on the

surrounding environmental management and control systems within a building. They can simply be erected, plugged in, taken down and relocated; without the need for complex or

lengthy installations, with no component redundancy as each is designed as a stand alone unit.

Full Height Pods

Team WorkTeam Work provides, as its name suggests, a structure for teams to work together. Its footprint allows for up to six people to be accommodated. Team Work does not include any internal furnishings but can encapsulate freestanding furniture solutions providing privacy to that setting. This approach makes the Team Work

Pod perhaps the most flexible within the range. As video conferencing and sharing of information on large format screens, by multiple users, becomes more commonplace in the office, Team Work is also available with a support panel upon which to mount a screen or integrate the Together Media Unit with an Ad-Lib table.

Full Height Pods

Team MeetingCreating informal environments for team meetings where groups of up to ten can meet to talk and share, for the morning briefing, the quick brainstorm or the afternoon coffee. The bench seating solution and small freestanding central table support a concept of quick discussion and resolution.

Team ResourceWithin open plan office environments it is more common today for employees to share resources like printers, scanners and facsimile machines. Aside from the general ambient noise of an office it is generally accepted that it is these kind of devices whirring into life that provide much of the acoustic and visual distraction of colleagues utilising them.

Team Resource provides a centralised location for these shared resources along with storage for consumables such as paper, cartridges and waste solutions including recycling stations all within the acoustic shadow of the Haven Pod system.

Configurations

ConstructionHaven Pods are constructed using a tubular steel frame, the design of which incorporates the specific fixings required for linking and attaching accessories and built in furniture elements.

The core of the screen is created using a composite of materials to provide a stable structure with enhanced acoustic properties and is fully upholstered in Camira Blazer fabric. The panels are linked using a specifically developed quick release linking system situated at the top and bottom of the panel.

Privacy & AcousticsHaven Pods are designed to provide both visual and acoustic privacy within working environments. The height of Haven Pods follow the recommendations laid out in BSEN1023-1:1997 for visual privacy when seated or standing.

The acoustic properties of Haven Pods have been independently verified and tested by AIRO Ltd (Acoustical Investigation and Research Organisation). In a test environment they provide a 50% reduction in ambient noise creating a very effective acoustic shadow for their occupants.

FlammabilityHaven Pods are upholstered using Camira Blazer fabric over CMHR foams and as such will provide a Class 1 surface spread of flame rating under the guidelines of BS476-7:1997.

Solo & Solo Plus — Integral worksurface power and data module, incorporating; 1 x 3.15 amp power socket, powered USB and Cat 6 Data with 1.5m supply leads. Duo — Worksurface mounted power and data module, incorporating; 2 x 3.15 amp power socket and 2 x Cat 6 Data with 1.5m supply leads.

Haven — Haven redefines the modular upholstery system with sofas, stools and tables. The high back of the sofa provides excellent personal privacy; a haven within a busy world.

A place for personal contemplation or interaction amongst a team.

Haven Bench — Designed as a continuation of the Haven system, Haven Benches share the same design language and philosophy of collaboration. The benches are available in three

lengths and can be used individually or linked.

Haven Tables — Haven tables are a stunning complement to the upholstery system. The tables feature a square conical pedestal finished in Oak veneer.

Our People

The Senator Group was originally formed in 1976 by Colin Mustoe and we are now a multi million pound business based in Accrington with showrooms across the world including London and New York.

Even though we now export to over 70 countries and employ over 1100 staff, we are still very much a family business, with our success now being driven by Colin’s son Robert Mustoe.
