New Year’s ResolutionsIf at first you don’t succeed,

try, try again to avoid beingamong the majority when itcomes to making New Year’sresolutions. After all, only 46percent of people who makeNew Year’s resolutions areactually able to keep them sixmonths later.

Other trivia regarding thepromises we make at the year’skickoff:

• Start at the beginning. NewYear’s resolutions go wayback. Janus, a Roman king, was one of the first to jumpon the bandwagon. Ofcourse, he had the insidetrack on ensuring he kepthis resolutions becauselegend says he had theability to look into thefuture.

• Make some noise. AChinese custom hundredsof years ago called forcreating the noisycombination of cymbalsand fireworks. The racketwas meant to chase awayghosts. Once the ghostshad vanished, people werethen able to move forwardin a new year.

• Get healthy. The three mostpopular New Year’sresolutions are the mostobvious, according towww.NewYearFestival.com.They are losing weight, exercising and quittingsmoking.
