M aybe your brother put sugar in the salt shaker, or your friend said that your school was cancelling recess for the rest of the year. Think those are the best April Fools’ jokes ever? How about this one? In 1957, a news reporter in Britain announced that Switzerland was experiencing a really good crop of spaghetti. Spaghetti trees were growing LOTS of spaghetti because the temperatures had been warm and the spaghetti weevil had left the crops alone. Spaghetti weevil?! There were even pictures that showed workers harvesting the spaghetti from the trees. Talk about a big April Fools’ joke! Get this – hundreds of people called the TV station after the report was given. They wanted to know how they could buy spaghetti trees so they could grow their own spaghetti! Evidently, spaghetti was not an everyday food in Britain at the time. It was considered a very special treat. Before you start laughing, do you know where spaghetti comes from? If you say it’s made in factories and comes in boxes, you’re right! If you think spaghetti really grows on trees, maybe you should do a little research! (And yes, you can look the story up on the Internet to see that we’re not fooling you. This TRULY happened.) HAVE YOU EVER HAD SOMEONE PULL AN April Fools’ JOKE ON YOU? OK, this story is really funny and very interesting, but let’s talk about something a little more serious for a bit. Psalm 14:1 says that the person who says there is no God is a fool. This isn’t an April Fools’ joke. It’s right there in the Bible. So maybe your unsaved friends don’t run around school yelling, “There is no God!” But if they don’t trust Jesus as their Savior, they’re not acknowledg- ing that God sent Jesus to save us from our sins. So in a way, they ARE saying that there is no God. It’s important for you to tell others about Jesus so that they can trust Him and have eternal life in heaven! Hell is not funny. It’s not an April Fools’ joke! Whom can you share the gospel with today? April 2015 ©2015 Awana ® Clubs International. This newsletter may be reproduced only by churches registered with Awana. HAVE YOU EVER HAD SOMEONE PULL AN

April Fools’ JOKE ON YOU?

OK, this story is really funny and very interesting, but let’s talk about something a little more serious for a bit. Psalm 14:1 says that the person who says there is no God is a fool. Just think about it …

An ark-itect.
