Hastings Choristers is most grateful for the generous support of its Patrons, Paul and Mary McCarthy. The players in REDS Quintet bring together many years of musical experience in the local area. REDS perform a wide range of jazz styles including mainstream and cool jazz, bebop, Latin, funk, rhythm & blues and even some jazz/rock. The band members write most of their own arrangements, balanc-ing instrumental pieces with vocal harmonies. The group can get the toes tapping of young and old alike and is fast developing a reputa-tion as a much sought-after entertainment group in the Hastings.

Players: Glenn Moore (trumpet), Jock Garven (saxophone), Bob Barnett (piano and vocals), Rod Ward (bass and vocals), Andrew Harrison (drums and vocals).

Hugo Bittar Hugo Bittar is 16 years of age and attends St Columba Anglican School. This year Hugo completed AMEB Piano for Leisure Grade 6 and was awarded a High Distinction with the examiner noting his outstanding ability to make pop music sound like Brahms! Hugo enjoys playing pop, rock and jazz music and is also an artistic photographer and videographer.

Greg Mitchell Gregory Mitchell is a young man with a passion for the performing arts. He studies classical piano and was recently awarded a High Distinction in his Grade 4 singing exam. Greg has a special connection to music theatre and attends St Columba Anglican School where he is a member of vocal and drama ensembles.

Francesca Plentinger Francesca is a Year 10 student at MacKillop College and was recently awarded Honours in her Grade 5 singing Exam. At the 2018 Taree Eisteddfod she received the 16 years Championship Award, the Stage Door/Canteen Scholarship and the award for Most Promising Competitor 16-20 years. She plays guitar and has been a singer with the Gondwana Voices Novus Children's Choir.
