HARVESTING OF GRAPESMosaic. From Ambulatory vault, Church of Santa Costanza, Rome. c. 350. The image has the allusion of Bacchus and his cult, but adapting it to a Christian context where the conversion of grapes to wine symbolizes the Eucharist, death and resurrection.
