HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN

PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TASKS?

We wanted to ensure the promotional package for our movie was effective by ensuring our trailer, poster and website work effectively together by having a strong brand.

CONSISTENCY OF FONT

One of the ways we secured our brand was using the font consistently throughout the project. The consistency we achieved shows the strength of the font that was chosen and that it works well on all the backgrounds that have been used.

THE COLOUR RED

The colour red will always be signified as a colour of horror. This is because it can be linked to many things most famously to blood and danger due to the elements it holds. Red can also be held in many different shades and the dark shade of red brings out the dark elements in the film as well as the things it represents.

It works well in our package as it links the 3 products together and reflects the horror genre and dark themes.

LOCATIONSThe locations I have decided to use all came with great thought and planning. The first location that came into mind was the use of the woods as automatically that can be considered a scary location as it is very limited with tight spaces in some areas and the location was easily to access due to it being next door to the school.

The school was also used as a location as the film stars college students so this was very handy to use and was the easiest to access but it didn’t bring dark themes as the school was lit up at the time. I used my house for the opening scenes as it was original and brought back the element of normal kids in everyday life.

The church was the biggest thing that we filmed because the originality of the idea. The church brought in the main theme of horror because of the things it is linked to like, religion which can be linked to demons which is the antagonist of the film.

The church is the location that is used throughout all 3 products as it is a key scene in the movie. This was an effective decision as it reflects the contrast with good and evil.

LACK OF CHARAC TERS THROUGHOUT PRODUC TS

Although this was a big project in sense of scale and locations, we chose not to use characters ion the trailer and website.

We chose to stick with using characters from within the group as it was easy to manage and use for the trailer but did not want these to feature in the ancillary products as we wanted the focus to be on location.

We believe this was the right decision as it leaves the audience asking questions as to the characters who will appear in the movie.
