The Wizarding World of Harry Potter officially opens to the public at Universal Orlando Florida.

The theme park features rides such as the Dragon Challenge - a twin high-speed roller coaster with many iconic elements from the Triwizard Tournament.

The book's creator J.K Rowling collaborated with Universal to help create the theme park.

Ollivanders wand shop is an "incredible interactive experience" where the wand chooses the wizard.


Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods is full of Ministry of Magic and magical creatures merchandise, Omnioculars, and even remote control Golden Snitches.

Thousands of guests arrive Friday, June 18, 2010 for the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Gates to the theme park were opened at 6 a.m., as a line of faithful fans snaked as far back as the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal CityWalk.

Hundreds of floating candles appear to hover above guests boarding the ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, inside Hogwarts Castle.
