Dear all,

This week it has been a privilege to spend a large proportion of each day visiting lessons and talking to students about their learning. I have been so impressed with their positive attitude towards their studies and heartened to see the wonderful progress that our students are making.

On Monday I led an assembly for our Year 11 students, this was based on the ‘magic penny’, this was then followed up on Tuesday by giving each student a present in recognition of the tremendous start that they have made to the year. Furthermore, I have been really pleased to see the impressive Year 11 attendance this year, in fact yesterday the single days attendance was 99.4% - brilliant!

Club and activities have also all started in earnest over the last couple of weeks, please do feel free to come along and try them out. Thank you to all the Year 12 parents who attended our information evening this week, next week we look forward to seeing our Year 8 parents on Tuesday evening and then opening the school up for our Year 5 and 6 children for their Open Evening (6pm – 8:30pm)

As always, I hope you have a relaxing weekend and can enjoy the last bit of the summer sun!

After a lengthy 5hr journey we finally reached our base camp. We familiarised ourselves with our surroundings and settled down for the night as we had an early start the next morning.

We all got to the bottom safely, back to our campsite and celebrated with pizza and garlic bread around the campfire before a well-deserved night sleep.

The only jewellery that students are allowed is a wrist watch (not a fitness tracker), a

signet ring and one pair of small stud earrings, worn in earring per ear in the lobe. No

other piercings are allowed including other facial piercings, those covered with a plaster or

using a ’clear holder’

Skirts should be plain black, not overly tight and of a length suitable for school, not more

than 6 cm above the knee.

Trousers should be plain black, tailored and full length.

Shoes should be plain black, not ‘trainer style’ and polishable i.e. not fabric.

Socks may be black, grey or white.
