IMPLEMENTING AND ADOPTING KHRONOS STANDARDSApplication developers may always freely use Khronos standard APIs when they are available on your target system. If your company is implementing a Khronos API, then Khronos provides an Adopter Program for each of its standards that provides a conformance test suite to help you test your implementation. There is typically a modest fee for access to an Adopter Program that covers an unlimited number of shipping products. Becoming an Adopter is independent of Khronos membership, though members often enjoy a significant Adopter Program discount.
Once your implementation officially passes Khronos conformance your may use the trademarked name and logo of the standard in association with your product and call your product conformant. This helps to ensure that Khronos standards are consistently implemented to create a reliable cross-vendor platform for developers. Conformant products also enjoy protection from the Khronos IP Framework, ensuring that Khronos members will not assert their IP essential to the specification against your implementation.
