Abo ut Em i ly Morrow HomeEmily Morrow Home began with a love story... a life-long love for design that grew into a profession. After almost thirty years of practicing interior design, thirteen of which was directing Shaw Industries’ color, style and design development, I have recently entered a new chapter of life and launched a new enterprise, Emily Morrow Home, a collection of products inspired by my life and love.

I am most passionate about designing unique products that are not found in commodity retailers... inspired by travels to the most beautiful and amazing places on earth. The Emily Morrow Home Collection is not only about making our lives and homes more beautiful, it’s also about making the process of designing the home a pleasure while avoiding the usual pitfalls. That is why I sell through professionals, people with proven ability and craftsmanship who stand behind their work, as do I. Each product within the initial hardwood collection is inspired and designed to bring the world’s most beautiful visuals home to you, whether it’s Napa Valley or the Pacific Coast highway. As with any well-executed design project, one should always begin with the floors… the most beautiful “canvas” from which a home filled with personal expressions of style can emerge.

Beach conf ident ialConfidentially speaking, the design process begins at the very core of the white oak trees. Beach Confidential’s trees are sliced rather than peeled, revealing the their best side. The “skip sawn” technique lends itself perfectly to the white-filled cerusing of Beach Confidential going across the face of the surface.

handmade harvestThe secret recipe used for this harvest is in the layering of timeless techniques. Skip sawn, sliced face white oak looks and feels genuinely authentic when you can see the marks of the saw left behind from the cutting process of the sliced white oak wood.

j et streamJet Stream takes the modern approach to hand-scraping where white-washing is carefully applied and hand-chiseled to reveal the beauty of the gorgeous walnut face. The entire collection is completely sourced and made in the USA of walnut with a UV water based stain and scratch resistant surface.

Cosmopol itan CoastGetting wood floors to look just right, requires knowing how to strike the perfect balance of practicality and design sense. Getting white wood floors to look just right requires “magic”. The warmth of the sliced white oak is revealed with expert subtlety through hand-rubbing, scraping and finishing each board.

F irst leafTaking inspiration from white oak barrels for wine on a recent trips to France and Northern California’s Napa and Sonoma, “First Leaf ” has the natural warmth of wood that we’re all drawn to with the occasional knots and mineral streaks which add to the genuine artistry and its aesthetic appeal.

global sp ir i tWire brushing wood grain eliminates the soft pith of the wood and enhances the surface of the grain in a “high definition” kind of approach. Global Spirit mixes well with many design styles as the warmth of the wood stains is not only compatible with endless options, it also has a timeless appeal.

surf shackSurf Shack finds its origins along the Pacific Coast Highway at the surfers’ iconic hangouts around Malibu. The aesthetics begin with a blank canvas of sliced white oak boards which we’ve painted white and hand-rubbed to look not-too-perfect to reveal the sawn-face visuals subtly running across the grain. Surf Shack is not only wide but also a long board, measuring in at 7 inches wide and up to 8 feet long.
