Happy Spring! Hello to our Acorns and parents of Acorns in Growing Up MidWest. April is National Credit Union Youth Month and we like to spend the month encouraging our youngest members to save. The theme this year “Be a credit union saver and your savings will never go extinct” and revolves around dinosaurs, so you will find several of them throughout this newsletter. Talking about dinosaurs being extinct can bring up an explanation of what extinct means. extinct: (of a species, family, or other groups of animals or plants) having no living members; no longer in existence Would you want your money to go extinct? Why is money important? What could you save money for? Thinking about these questions can help you understand why the habit of saving is so important. Start watching how adults use their money. Watch them at the store, when they are budgeting for the month, or when they go to the Credit Union, and don’t forget to ask questions.
