Happy Mother’s Day 2016
Proverbs 31:25-30
She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

JESUS IS PRAYING FOR EAST SIDE BAPTIST CHURCH One of the greatest truths found in God’s Word is that Jesus is currently praying for His children who are still on this earth. This fact should not be taken lightly. Jesus does not pray for everybody! Listen to His words in John 17:9 ESV, “I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.” Jesus cares about every born again member of East Side Baptist Church, and he specifically prays for us in John 17, the prayer of our great High Priest.
He prays that we will be kept and guarded as long as we are in this world (vv. 11-12), and that is why He says with confidence, “not one of them has been lost” (v. 12). He prays that we will be filled with His joy (vv. 13-14) and protected from the evil one (v. 15). Jesus also prays for our sanctification by His word in the midst of a fallen world that does not know Him, so He sends us out with the truth of that word so others might believe and be saved (vv. 16-18). Jesus prays for us to be one with Him and the Father and one another so that we can demonstrate His glory here on earth and fully experience His glory in heaven (vv. 20-24).
Be encouraged! The Lord of heaven and earth has not forgotten His church. He knows where we are, what we are experiencing, and how He can work through His body to magnify His glory! Thank Him, praise Him, exalt Him, and trust Him! Let us pray for one another as Jesus prayed for us!
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Bro. Terry Bostick from the Arkansas Baptist State Convention will be with us on Sunday, May 1, to preach in both services in the morning. On Sunday night at 6:00 PM, Terry will also make a presentation of the Intentional Interim process recommended by our state convention. This meeting is to inform the church about the process and to help us decide if this is the direction God would have us go. Therefore, following the presentation, there will be a discussion time of questions and answers.
Following the presentation, our church will be called to prayer for the next two weeks and then come together on Sunday morning, May 15, to vote on the proposal of the Intentional Interim for ESBC. The vote will be at the end of both services that morning.
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY HOUR, 6:00 PM IN THE HENSLEY BUILDING This month we will be completing the Small Group Study based on the prayers of the apostle Paul called Praying with Paul. It has been a wonderful study and very helpful for increasing one’s consistency and effective in prayer. It is not too late to join us on Wednesday nights in the month of May.
At the completion of this study, we will have some more individual group studies from which you can choose. Watch the bulletin on Sunday mornings for additional announcements concerning the summer classes to be offered.

G.R.O.W. is an outreach ministry of our church.
Since the beginning of 2016, we sent 687 cards, made 30 house visits, 19 phone calls, and had 30 prayer warriors praying for all the ministries of the church. This was accomplished with a volunteer base of 190 people stretched over a 4-month period.
We have 4 different teams that provide the manpower to make this happen. Each team meets one week a month.
Interested in joining a G.R.O.W. team? Call the church office @ 425-3689
April was a busy month for the Women on Missions.
We heard a presentation on the Christian Women’s Job
Corps (CWJC). This program provides bible study, job
skills and life skills to women who need a fresh start.
When the old Rollins Hospital, in Gassville, is fully
renovated the CWJC will be housed there along with the
White River Baptist Association offices. A one hundred
dollar donation was made to the program. Also in April the
Women on Missions provided dinner for the workers at the
Christian Clinic prior to their seeing patients.
The May meeting will be held at the home of Joyce
Staiger on May 19th. This will be the final meeting this
Spring and is our annual salad supper. Come join us, bring
your favorite salad and help plan the activities and
programs for next year.
Since the first of the year, the Library ministry team
processed and shelved 149 new books, CD’s, and
DVD’s. We offer many thanks to those who donated
books and blessed the church members through the
Library. No matter your interests, you should find a
fiction book that will appeal to you. Non-fiction books
include Bible dictionaries, concordances, and
commentaries, devotionals, and help for living a
Christian life. New books on witnessing are on the
shelves as well as biographies of missionaries. Come in
and investigate the Library in Hensley 09.

Dear All:
Janice and I would like to once again thank you for allowing us to make the move to the church parsonage. We feel so blessed to be a part of East Side and each one of you has enriched our lives so much.
Can you believe that Summer is almost upon us? And with Summer, many of our families will be traveling across the country to visit family and friends. But before you go don’t forget to take advantage of some upcoming activities. On May 20, we are going to Branson to see the Sight and Sound production of “Moses”. In recent years there have been several movies depicting Hollywood’s version of Moses and the Exodus story. I hope you will join us and experience the real story.
On May 2nd-8th, East Side is sending a 7 person team to Hope Rising Children’s Home in Leogone, Haiti. Please remember them in prayer. Haiti is a very dark and hopeless place that is so in need of the light of Jesus’ love. Pray that God will use them and keep them safe.
As you travel, fish, hike, kayak and cookout please don’t forget to ask the Lord to show you ways you can share Christ with others.
With much Love, Brother Richard
