September 2014 Volume 1, Issue 1 September 2014 Volume 1, Issue 1 It is always a little sad to watch another summer slip away. We have had a tremendous summer with the best weather anyone can ever remember. We ended with a bang by having Carnival, Awards Ceremonies, Championship games in soccer and baseball as well as Color War. e mixed blessing for me is that I get to be part of the opening of school each fall. Many children who got to know us this summer will transition into our school. We have a college campus for our preschool. We have many acres with multiple playgrounds. Aſter we change over from our camp set up we are leſt with all types of ball fields and other spots for youngsters to discover nature. Summer changes into autumn and we celebrate its arrival by hosting a fall festival complete with hay rides, pony rides and pumpkin picking. Our summer cabins are transformed into beautiful classrooms. We quickly put away cubbies and set up learning centers and print rich bulletin boards. Our staff enjoys meeting and planning curriculum for each new school year. We also welcome many different Staff Developers who add to our knowledge of early child- hood education. We are always anxious to get the school year started in spite of the hustle bustle that we experience at the end of camp. Teachers can’t wait to get into their school routines and spend time with their colleagues. We are all excited to meet new students and welcome back the ones who were here last year. It is also fun to see the families that we have come to know in the past years return to us and make lots of new friends. See you in September.
