ENTRANCE SONG ‘Watermark’ - Enya WELCOME Fr. Kevin Dillon LIGHTING OF PASCHAL CANDLE (candle to be lit by Wilma) SPRINKLING OF COFFIN WITH HOLY WATER: OPENING PRAYER Lord, in our grief we turn to you. Are you not the God of love, always ready to hear our cries. Listen to our prayers for Hans whom you have called out of this world: lead him to your kingdom of light and peace and count him among the saints in glory. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. All: Amen. EULOGY Max, Greg

Celebrant: Into your hands we commend Hans.

We are confident that with all who have died in Christ, he will be raised to life on the last day and live with Christ for ever. We thank you for all the blessings you gave him in this life to show your fatherly care for all of us, and the fellow ship which is ours with the saints in Jesus Christ.

Lord, hear our prayer. Welcome Hans to Paradise and help

us to comfort each other with the assurance of our faith until we all meet in Christ to be with you and with Hans

forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: AMEN.

Celebrant: Hans, may the Angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the Holy City, the new and eternal Jerusalem.

Let us go in the peace of Christ. All: THANKS BE TO GOD.

PRAYERS OF FINAL COMMENDATION AND FAREWELL

Fr. Dillon: With faith in Jesus Christ, we pray with confidence to God, who gives life to all things, that he will raise this mortal body to the perfection and the company of the saints.

May God give Hans a merciful judgment and forgive all his sins. May Christ the Good Shepherd, lead him safely home to be at peace with God our Father. And may he be happy forever with all the saints in the presence of the eternal King. Celebrant: When Hans was baptised, he was baptised into the death of Christ. The Father has raised the Lord Jesus, and we too have been raised in him to live a new life for God. Through Baptism we share in the death of Jesus in order that we may also share in his resurrection. In memory of Hans’s Baptism, we now use this Holy Water and call on the Lord Jesus to welcome him into the peace of eternal life. Fr. Dillon: Saints of God, come to his aid! Come to meet him, angels of the Lord! All: Receive his soul and present him to God the most high.

Fr. Dillon: May Christ, who called you; take you to himself;

May angels lead you to Abraham’s side. All: Receive his soul and present him to God the most high. Fr. Dillon: Give him eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine upon him forever. All: Receive his soul and present him to God the most high.

FIRST READING Father Kevin Dillon A Reading from the Second Letter of St. Paul to Timothy As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart. I have fought the good fight to the end, I have run the race to the finish. I have kept the faith; all there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, will give to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all those who have longed for his appearing. This is the Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 23 Father Kevin Dillon RESPONSE: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want, Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me to revive my drooping spirit. Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want He guides me along the right path, he is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear. You are there with your crook and your staff, With these you give me comfort. Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil, my cup is overflowing. Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me All the days of my life, In the Lord's own house shall I dwell for ever and ever. Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION All: Alleluia, alleluia!! This is the will of my father, says the Lord, that should lose nothing of all that he has given to me, and that I should raise it up on the last day. Alleluia! GOSPEL Fr. Kevin Dillon NO. 7 LUKE 6 : 36 38 A reading from the Gospel of Luke Celebrant: A reading from the Holy Gospel, according to St. John (John 14: 1-6) Celebrant: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you.

Celebrant: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Hans All: Glory to you, Lord. Jesus said “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus replied, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

HOMILY Fr. Dillon PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION Fr. Dillon: We pray for Hans to our Lord Jesus Christ who said: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even if they die, and every living person who puts their faith in me will never suffer eternal death.” For Hans, a child of God and heir to the kingdom, that he may be held securely in God's loving embrace now and for all eternity. Lord, hear us. Response: Lord, hear our prayer That the Lord Jesus who blesses those who mourn and are in pain, will look upon Hans’s family and friends who gather around him today. Lord hear us. Response: Lord, hear our prayer Many friends and members of our families have gone before us and await the kingdom. May God grant them an everlasting home with Christ. Lord, hear us. Response: Lord, hear our prayer Fr. Dillon: Lord, hear our prayers. By raising your Son Jesus from the dead, you have given us faith. Strengthen our hope that Hans will share in the resurrection. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: AMEN. PHOTO MEMORIES OF HANS
