The Hankinson Painting Group has a history spanning back to 1975 when it was founded by the current President, Roy Hankinson.

The Company is now run by Stephen Hankinson, son of the Founder and supported by a dynamic Management Team.

The Group has expanded both organically and by acquisition in recent years and now incorporates Roy Hankinson Limited, Whittle Programmed Painting Limited and EPIC Painting Limited. Each Company has added to

Water Gilding

While typically used on furniture, this is occasionally found on some architecture. Water Gilding involves layering gesso which is

Oil Gilding

As the most common technique used for gilding we are frequently asked to restore interiors that have extensive oil gilded interiors. The surface that is to be gilded is carefully prepared and then gold leaf is applied to the slightly adhesive surface. The Gilder gener-ates a small static charge in the bristles of his tool and this is used to pick-up the gold leaf. A long handled brush is then used to

Trompe l’Oeil

A trick of the eye is the literal translation from French of Trompe l'Oeil - they are painted illusions which deceive the viewer. These intricately painted decorations have been popular since Renaissance and they help create a sense of space and light to enhance architecture.

Lime & Gypsum Plaster Conservation

Decorative plasters are often at high risk of degrading. We undertake projects to clean, reinstate and also remodel plaster using traditional moulding and casting techniques. New materials are often used to improve the lifetime and integrity of the work.

Industrial Insulating Coatings

Hankinson Painting Group are approved Specialist Applicators of Mascoat and o�er a line of coatings that can be applied on many di�erent pieces of equipment and machinery in any number of environments and facilities.

Products in the Mascoat Industrial family include:-

Mascoat Industrial-DTI – capable of thermally insulating up to 375°F ( 190°C), this coating is perfect for a myriad of applica-tions. Personnel protection, energy savings and protection from Corrosion Under Insulation are just a few of the bene�ts.

Mascoat Industrial-AC (Anti-Condensation) – the �rst branch to come o� of the Mascoat Industrial tree. AC is a coating that reduces or completely stops condensation from happening, depending on the thickness of the coating and the application.

Mascoat Industrial-HR (Highly Re�ective) – perfect for tanks that need to be protected from solar loading, the coating has highly re�ective particles to block the sun’s rays from heating up the contents inside.

Used alone or together (in special circumstances), the Mascoat Industrial line of insulating coatings is able to solve many problems prevalent throughout an industrial facility from food processing to chemical re�ning.
