Recognized as one of the best applied technology schools in the state and nation – we emphasize hands-on training or applied skills and offer the Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree.

The campus, which attracts some 800 students annually, is located in Wellsville, NY, about 15 miles from the Alfred campus.

To understand what makes Alfred State

great, you should meet

our students.

Collin was drawn to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning program because of all the hands-on learning opportunities it offers, as well as the wide range of knowledge he would gain in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and other similar fields.

“You really can’t get an environment like this anywhere else, and you get a little bit of everything, too, from electrical, to plumbing, to HVAC, to carpentry, and mechanical work.”

As for the hands-on learning, Collin has gained real-world experience through many projects, including helping to install a boiler system at a house students built for the Wellsville community.

Thanks to Alfred State, Collin now feels ready to take on the workforce.

“I went from knowing nothing about any of this to feeling prepared for a full-time job. I’m ready to go into the field.”

MEET: Collin Stauffer, HVAC, LeRoy

What attracted me to the BTech program was that it allowed a lot of one-on-one time with my teachers. I also appreciated that it gave me

an opportunity to apply my specific background trade to my schooling.

The program has allowed me to put together a great resume that
