2010-05 HAMMAR LIFEBUOY RELEASE SYSTEM REPLACEMENT MANUAL Specification: • One ERU • One release cord • One pilot line for loading the lifebuoy • One replacement manual • One marking instruction Replacement: 1. Secure the lifebuoy with a cord. This is a good opportunity to test the lifebuoy function by activating the Release Switch or pulling the manual safety pin. 2. Dismount the ERU – use fixed spanner size 8. Discard the used ERU in an environmentally approved manner. Make sure that the new ERU is correctly marked before installation. Mount the new ERU – do not tighten the nuts! 3. Unscrew the locking screw for the release screw and remove the old release cord. Mount the new release cord. The ends of the release cord can be locked during installation by pulling the cord ends into the V-slot. Make sure that the length of the cord is 20cm and that the cord will be well locked by the washer before you tighten the locking screw again. 20 cm

3. Unscrewthelockingscrewforthereleasescrewandremovetheoldreleasecord.Mountthenewreleasecord.TheendsofthereleasecordcanbelockedduringinstallationbypullingthecordendsintotheV-slot.Makesurethatthelengthofthecordis20cmandthatthecordwillbewelllockedbythewasherbeforeyoutightenthelockingscrewagain.

5. PullupthereleasecordthroughtheERUholewiththepilotline.Secureitwiththemanualsafetypin.
6. ConnecttheERUcableattheconnectorbox.
7. Thesystemisnowreadytobeused.TheERUshallbechangedaftertwoyearsofservice.
