I t was a lot of fun being one of

    several Missionaries involved in this

    School of

    Missions

    in

    north

    western

    Oklahoma

    and the panhandle of Texas.

    Everyone

    was

    so

    encouraging

    and

    gracious

    as

    well

    as generous.

    TH NK YOU  LL

    It

    felt

    good

    to be able to travel

    and

    speak

to 12 churches in a course of two weeks .

October 6th through the 19th was busy

    but

    very enjoyable.

    I praise

    God

    for each one of

    you

    |

    who

    support me prayerfully and financially

    so

I can recruit . Please contact us a t our

main office or me here in Texas if

    RECRUITING

    MISSION RY CONVENTION

    The France project is going

    well

    with

    Bill   ndAnne Caroline

    Baird

    working

    with

    the

    house

    church and

    the Reinoehl

    family on

    their

way this month. We have some

    interest

    of a

    few

    who

    want

    to join them

    in

    starting the

campus ministry there. Please pray for

    these

    people and the work

    there

    We have some

    great

    interest in

teachers going to helpteach in the girls

    school

    in

    Bankok Thoilond

    We

    do

    need several

    so

keep this opportunity inyour prayers and

    help

us f ind some more volun teers

We have been asked for some help in

Nigeria for teachers. We are also still looking

Intently for some volunteers to go into

Slovakiaand study so they canstart a campus

    ministry and church

    there

Our team, is continuing to do a great

    job inSoutheast Asia. If youwould

    like

    more

    info about some

    of

t he se r es tr ic ted areas

    that

we are in please contact us. My sister

and her familyare glad to be back on the field.

We Praise God for all He is doing there

    I have been put

    In

    contact with most of

our recruits and potential recruits. My

traveling and work has accelerated to some

degree since dad is working with Pioneer

    Bible

    Translators,

    recruiting

    I am

    happy

    that my

    responsibilities in recruiting and traveling

    have increased. I sure

    thank the

    Lord

    for

    Sonja doing

    the secretarial

    work

    at the

    Bethel

Missouri office. She sure helps me a lot.

A man that I met at Pampa Texas is

    seriously thinking about recruiting full-time

with Outreach In te rna tiona l We are still

    helping

    him

    look into that possibility. He

    would sure be a

    great asset

We are in the process of helping a

    missionary

    that

is from Pampa Texas. We are

    hoping

    to be able to

    help him

    get

    set

    up to do

more than he is able to right now We help a

    lot of people

    like

    this get

    involved

    or more

    involved

in overseas work We feel tha t this is

    what we do

    We

    are s iar iers

    and motiva to rs

    in helping people do what

    God

    has called them

to do. In our board meeting at the Missionary

    Convention, the Black s and

    the

    Baird s both

    said

    they

would not be able to be missionaries

    if

    it

    were not

    for Outreach

    International

We thank the lord for beingable to help.

    Please let me

    know

    if you would like for

me to come and share with your youth or your

    congregation about

    the

    need for workers in

unreached people groups and other needs in

    Gm i e

    T he en d of

    March

    was

    a surprise I thought I had

    eaten bad pizza I t

    turned

    ou t to be a

    l i t t le

    more

    se r ious

    than

    that I guess the pizza

    had nothing to do

    with

    it .

    After having

    periodic

    abdominal pains

    for a day

    and a

    half they

    finally

    tu rned in to

    cons tan t

    severe

    pains

    Mom

    rushed

    me

    into

    the hospital and we found

    out after

    going

    into

    surgery

    right

    away that my intestine

    had

    twisted

    and

    I

    had

    a

    blockage

    that

    ruptured

    my

colon whi ch a lm ost b urs t

    Well they had to

    go in and

    remove

    a

    foot

    of

    in tes t ine and

    I am now a proud

    owner of

    a

    colostomy

    Oh

    well they

    said

    that

    they

    can

    hook me

back up in about four to six

    months

    This

    is

    a good thing

    I like the

    idea of

    getting

hooked back up like a normal

    tjTje person

    T hen again

    I

    am not sure

    if

    I

    have eve ry

    been what you would call

    norma l

    I am recuperating

    right

    now and

    my stomach

    is

    getting

    used to

    not

    aU

    being

    there

    They

    said that this is

    not

    unusua l

    to have

    h ad th i s

    aU done having

    CF

    and all

    I

    will

    not

    be

    traveling

    this

    summer too

    far

    away

    since my doctors want to

    keep

    a close eye

    on me

    for

    awhile

    I

    t hank the Lord

    The Joy of

    Recruiting

    While I was

    up at

    YOU HAVE

    A

    PART

    IN

    THESE RECRUITS

    GOING

    St Lou i s

      hr is t ian

    College

    and

    Lincoln

    Christian

    College

    are two

    places that

    I

    had

    the privilege

of sharing at in a formal setting

    as

    well

    as

    talking to

    students

    one

    on

    one. These college

    age

    people are

    some

    of our

    biggest

    potential recruits.

    It worked out real good

    because

    St.

    Louis is

    on

    the

    way to Lincoln

    Christian

    College where I spent

    the

    week

    attending

    the Week of

    World

    Wide W itn es s. 1

    was

    happy to be a

    part of th e

    mission emphasis week. I

shared at a workshop and had

    a

    booth and talked

    to people

    about the

    opportunities

    tha t we

    have for serving

    overseas.

    We have

    wri t ten ove r

    a

hundred of the s tud en ts that

    have

    made

    commitments to do

    some work overseas after they

    get

out of school. It was a

    profitable time

    that was spent

    with missionary friends

    and

    s tudent .

    on my way

    back

    I spent

    the w eek end

    with

    Chet and

    Bev

    Shaw.

    Some

    good friends

    from my highschool days in

    Texas.

    Chet

    used

    to

    help

    lead

    our

    youth group. I

    had

    the

    privilege of sharing at

    the

    church where they

    attend

there in Joplin. While I was

    there

    1

    was

    a lso abl e

    to talk to

a couple of our recruits. Clint

leigh who is planning to join

    our team there at the

    university in France.

    We are

    excited about sending

    these

    new recruits

    to help

    the team

    that

    is already

    there.

    Pau l Deluca from my

    home church

    here

    in town is

    leaving

    the

    10th for Bangkok

    Thailand to

    teach

    English and

help work in the prison ministry

    there.

    Tim Borson

    who

    is

    also from my home

    church

    here

    is

    making

    plans to

    be a

    missionary

    pilot.

    Praise God

that He has used me to

    help

    these

    men see the need and

    opportunity of missions.

    F i n a n c e s

    I have

    applied

    and

    was

    excepted

    for a medical

    insurance

    plan cal led

    Texas

    Health Risk Pool.

    It

    is

    designed for transplant

    patients

    and

    very high risk

    people who

    cannot get

    insurance other

    places. My

    doctors

    highly

    recommended

me to get this. It covers all

    medical

    conditions

    whether or

    not

    it

is r ela te d to CP.

    I have

    had

    this

    insurance for a couple of

    months now and am needing

    an

    extra

     200 per month

    to

continue paying for it. I could

    really

    use another

     100 a

month for living etc. Any help

    in this way would

    be

    greatly

    appreciated.

    My total personal

    income for the

    year

    2000

    was

     11 500.

    Some of that

    was

    used

    fo r

    mission work such as:

    Office supplies mailings etc.

    If you

    would

    like a

    more

    detailed financial

    report

    please let

    me

    know.

    Stateside for a short

    visit

    andso we

    were

    able

    to

    discuss

    some

    of

    the

    progress

    in

    ministry

    in

    France

    as

    well

    as

    new

    opportunities

    for

    interns

and student ministry. Both the Bairds

    and

Karen Richardson are continuing t work

with a small church congregation that is growing

    in

    theirfaith. Jason and Jennifer Reinoehl

    are the

    Youth

    Educational Services Interns that are

    working

along side the Bairds and Karen

    The

    Reinoehls were also

    Statesidefor a little overa

    month

    for fundraising and reporting to

    their sending

    churches.

    Al

was also able to meet with Jason Reinoehl while they were in the

    Russia: Georse ConnieKeralis

    months

    this

    summer.

The preacher and leadership training church

    growth

    andBible

    classes

    are continuing to go

well. George works agreat deal with the national church leaders

    while

    Connie continues with

    the

    Ladies

    ministries. They

    Just recently lost

    theirforwarding

    agents to the

    mission

    field

     what

    a

    great way to

    lose

    aforwarding agent) and

    the

Lord has already provided new forwarding

    agents

    tohelp with

    their

    stateside andfinancial

    good results Roland

    Joseph

    is

    continuing

    to serve

    with

    the Kimberly

    Christian Church.

    Roland

    is

    a national

    worker that

    we

    try to encourage and support

    as

    much as we

    can. He had

    come

    to

    know the Lord

    as

    a

    young

    man

    when Al

    Annette were

    first

    married and

    working

    in

    East

    Africa:

    Although

    the work in East

    Africa was turned

    over

    to another

    missionary that

isfulltime in East Africa, Outreach International

    still sends

    interns to work with

    these missionaries.

    Larry

    Smith

    continues

    to make regular

    trips

    with

    interns

    to Uganda and

    Kenya.

    Most recently

    Thailand: Paul DeLuca (Youth Educational

    Services

    Intern) hasJust returnedfrom Thailand

    were he

    taught some.

    Although he did not

    feel

    led by the

    Lord

    to stay on

    in

    Thailand, he is

    excited

    about

helping tofind teachers ofEnglish tohelp the

    schools

    there.

Labors ofLove - Haiti: Wayne   Judy Black reported on the progress in

    Bois-Aube,

    where

    recently a concrete

    roofwas

    poured (not a

     common event in

    that

    part

    of

    the

      heLord

    provided thefood, crew

    and

    water

    to

get thejob done, so we rejoice

    with

    them.

Southeast Asia: The Nguyens (YES Program) are happy to report that 6 of theirfamily

    arid

    friends have come to

    know

    Jesus

    asLord and

    Savior since

    they arrived

    on the

    field in

    Mid-

    November 2000. Praise Godfor these

    new

    brothers

    and

    sisters

    in Christ Please remember

them in yourprayers as this highly resistant fieldprovides daily

    challenges

    -prayfor

    in the

    decisions

    NEW

    OPPORTUNITIES

China: There are teaching contracts available at various schools in Shunde, Panyu, Harbin

and Shuifenhe (a bordering city to

    Russia)

    in China.

    These

    are large

    cities

    anywhere

    from

    I

    million

    to 3

    million

    people. Each

    city needs

    teachers

    for a

    variety

    of age

    groups

    including

kindergarten, primary and middle schools. No degree is

    needed

    to teach kindergarten or

    primary school, however a degree

    in English

    is

    needed

    to

    teach

    middle

    school Teachers will

    live with

    bothforeign andChinese teachers andit

    will not be

    aproblem iffriends/family want to

    visit

    them. It

    would

    be noproblemfor the

    teacher

    tohave children, since

    there

    isno limitation of

    family

    size.

    Teachers

    would

    teach approximately 24

    hours

    a week andwould have

    1-2

    year

    contract. Wages are paid in

    Chinese Yuan (3,000-5,000),

plus room and board is provided.

    When we

    werefirst

    contacted about

    this

    opportunity,

    we

    were told

    that there was a

    need

    for 24

    teachers.

    They would

    like

    to have the

    teachers

    arrive in

    August

    as

    school begins September

1st. 1 knowthis is short notice, but thereJust might be someoneout there who is waitingfor

such a great opportunity. Pray that

    the

    Lord will

    raise up laborers

    for

    his

    harvest

    fields.  We

    already

    have

    several

    inquiries

    on

    The

    philosophy of

    Outreach

    International

    since its beginning

    in 1977, isbased on

the fact that all mankind deserve the chance to hear about the savinggrace ofJesus Christ

    and that it is

    each

Christian's responsibility to do all we can to reach the world with the

Good News of Salvation found in Jesus Christ Therefore Outreach International has

acted as starters for those new to worldwide missions and has helped start, by the grace

ofGod, several new missions across the world.

    Happy Holidays

    Dad now i n

    Sudan

    As most of you

    already know, my dad, AI,

    has been working in

    southern

    Sudan since the

    last

    week o f October. H e

    is working with a mission

    organization c lled  The

    Voice

    of The

    Martyrs.

    H e

    and

    a

    man named

    Mike Smith, are the only

    Americans over there

    in

    that area at this time.

    Mike is managinga hospi

    tal while dad is teaching

    and training local Chris

    tians for future

    work.

    Dad and

    Mike

    have both committed one

    year of volunteer service.

    They are hoping to be

    able to train and disciple

    the local people to take

    over a

    lo t o f the work in

    the hospital and in

    preaching and teaching

    the

    Word

    o f

    God.

    T he area is

    safe

    but the situation can be

    dangerous when traveling.

    There are several refugee

    camps in the area that

    need

    the

    obvious

    kind o f

    help. There are also

    about 40 churches that

    are in this

    free

    area that

    need teaching and train

    ing. Dad is working with

    th e leaders o f these

    churches. The people all

    over

    the

    area are com

    pletely destitute. They are

    in need of clothing, medi

    cines, and

    food.

    I cannot go into
