oooThe film manufacturers ndicate he ASA Rating on the film pack and this number has tobe transferred o the ASA setting ocated on the Lens Mount, e.g. 25 ASA, 50 ASA, etc.

Once this lilm setting has been selected he ring must not be changed unless a newIilm of a different type is loaded. To obtain a correct exposure meter eading, old the camera acing he subject o be pho-tographed, aking sure hat your hand does not obstruct he ExposureMeter Window W).

You will find that the red needle n the Exposure Meter Scale V) will swing o a numberThis number has to be transferred o the Exposure Value Scale ndex Window (Y). 'Ihisis done by rotating the F Stop Ring (D) until the required number appears n theExposure Value Scale Window (Y)IMPORTANTDo not confuse he figures on the F Stop Ring (D) with those appearing in theExposure Value Scale ndex Window (Y).As you will appreciate, arious ubjects equire different Shutter Speeds o arrest move-ment, e.g. f you are photographing fast moing subject, uch as horse racing, motor-cyclescrambling, tc.,we would suggest hat you select he fastest peed possible 1/250th ec.)whereas f the subject o be photographed s stationary, slower speed can be selected.

IMPORTANT (ConDPlease note, however, that if a different Shutter Speed is selected, the Exposure ValueScale (Y) will select a different number. Therefore, ensure at all times that the ExposureValue Scale Y) corresponds with the number as indicated by the Exposure Meter Scale V).

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTEAs previously mentioned, changing the Shutter Speed alters the'Exposure Value. Forease of use we suggest, whenever possible, that the shutter speed ii set first and thenselect and set Exposure Value number.

Manual Lens SettingYour Halina Paulette Electric can also be used as a Manual Camera. This may benecessary when the light conditions do not allow the meter to register sufficient iight.Under these circumstances, we would refer you to the exposure

    -guideas suggesled

by the -film manufacturers or to the suggeited exposure guide found on the- backpage of this booklet. Manual selection J

    -achieved asfollows:

    Setting the Lens:

The lens is- set by rotating F Stop Ring (D), and f stops range from f2.8 throughF:16. Set the red marker on the F Stop Ring exactly opposite he f stop you desiieto use See " Exposure Guide " for recommended f stop settings with Coloui or Blackand White Films.

    Depth of Focus ScaleThe

-depthof fo".m depends on the apertrre -and distance setting. It indicates the

area wfiich will be in sharp focus. Smaller f apertures result -in a greater depth of

field. Toascertain the depth of field you first oT all confirm the aperture you

.havechosen and then you look-for the same aperture on each side of the red triar_rgle onthe depth of focus scale. This will thel show you, if read in relation to the distancescale, the depth of focus of that particular aperiure. For inst_ance lf you_ are workingon f.'8 at l0'feet, you will be in Tocus approx. between 7 and 15 feet. If -you workon f.16 at 10 feet,'you will be in focus lpprox. between 6 and 30 feet. If, however, you work on f2.8 at 10 feet, your depth of focus would be every small approx. 9 to 11 feet.

Selecting he ShutterThe shutterlpeed is set by rotating the Shutter Speed Ring (E). _ The^ Shutter Speeds. fyour new Halina Paulette Electric r-a.rge rom 1/30th to 1/t^50th-Sec. Set.the red markerbn the Shutter Speed Ring exactly olposite the Shutter Speed you wish to use.

The "B" setting on the Shutter Speed Scale indicates time exposure which means thatthe Shutter reirains open for

"rlottg as your fingeq remains on the Body Release(B).

This setting is used for long erpos,rr-es rsing availible street lighting or -electric signs.

It may alsS be used under ixtremely poor light conditions or when flash photography."rrrroi be used. Under these circumsfa.rc"s, he c"meta must hold perfectly still andwe would suggest the use of a Tripod. We would also suggest that a cable release is essential for this type of photography.
