The second edition of this dictionary, including German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, has been enlarged to bring it up to date and to give the terms for components of some of the major machines or installations, as well as for processes, methods and concepts. The previous presentation has been maintained, clear drawings being given of each machine, installation or assembly alongside the equivalent terms. The 3700 terms included cover all aspects of livestock production, from feeding stuffs, forage, anatomy, veterinary science, feed processing, animal husbandry, produce and carcase handling, marketing, etc. Considerable attention is being paid to the buildings and installations used for livestock, as well as to tools and equipment for preparation, feeding, watering, cleaning out and care of livestock, dairy equipment, egg cleaning and sorting, brooders, slaughtering equipment, etc. The terms are given alongside drawings where appropriate but many general concepts are included.-E.H.
