Servicio de Penitencia Nuestro servicio de penitencia parroquial se llevará a

cabo el lunes, 18 de diciembre a las 7:00 p.m. Prepara el camino del Señor este

Adviento al ir a la Confesión.

La temporada de Adviento dura 22 días y la temporada de Navidad es de 15 días este año

litúrgico. Tenemos el privilegio de escuchar la Anunciación de María dos veces durante el Adviento. Si recuerdas, el ángel Gabriel se aparece a María y le pide que se convierta en la Madre del Mesías. Nuestra

Señora dice Sí a Dios y el Salvador entra a nuestro mundo quebrantado a través de su casta matriz en el día de Navidad. Después de que este mensaje fue entregado

a María, el Evangelio de Lucas dice que "el ángel se separó de ella" (Lc 1, 38).

Le invito a reflexionar sobre la importancia de estas pa-labras con el Papa Benedicto XVI. Él escribe:

"La gran hora del encuentro de María con el mensajero de Dios, en la que cambia toda su

vida, llega a su fin, y ella permanece allí sola, con la tarea que verdaderamente supera toda capacidad humana. No hay ángeles parados a su alrededor.

Ella debe continuar por el camino que conduce a través de muchos momentos oscuros ....

¿Cómo a menudo en estas situaciones María debe haber regresado interiormente a la hora en que el ángel de

Dios le había hablado, reflexionando nuevamente sobre el saludo:

"¡Alégrate, llena de gracia!" palabras consoladoras: "¡No tengas miedo!"

El ángel se va; su misión permanece, y con ella madura su cercanía interna a Dios, una cercanía que en su cora-

zón ella puede ver y tocar (Papa Benedicto XVI, Jesús de Nazaret: Las narrativas de la infancia). Mientras

continuamos nuestro viaje de Adviento, volvamos a esas palabras sagradas y poderosas de la

Anunciación y mantengamos, con María, una cercanía interna al Señor.

The Season of Advent lasts 22 days and the Christmas Season is 15 days this Liturgical

Year. We have the privilege of hearing the Annunciation of Mary twice during Advent. If you recall, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary

and asks her to become the Mother of the Mes-siah. Our Lady says yes to God and the Savior

enters our broken world through her chaste womb on Christmas day. After this message is delivered to Mary, the Gospel of Luke says that

“the angel departed from her” (Lk 1:38). I invite us to reflect on the import of these words with Pope Benedict XVI. He writes, “The great

hour of Mary’s encounter with God’s messenger—in which her whole life is

changed—comes to an end, and she remains there alone, with the task that truly surpasses all human capacity. There are no angels standing around her. She must continue along the path that leads through many dark moments….How

often in these situations must Mary have returned inwardly to the hour when God’s angel

had spoken to her, pondering afresh the greeting: “Rejoice, full of grace!” and the

consoling words: “Do not be afraid!” The angel departs; her mission remains, and with it

matures her inner closeness to God, a closeness that in her heart she is able to see and touch (Pope Benedict XVI, Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy

Narratives). As we continue our Advent journey, let us return to those sacred,

powerful words of the Annunciation and main-tain, with Mary, an inner closeness to the Lord.
