Gymnastics
The Gymnastics Victoria Family Ball and Awards Night is a fun night for all involved in
Gymnastics. The awards presented on this night are to recognise and reward affiliated
clubs for their commitment to the development of the sport, workforce, volunteers,
and gymnasts, as well as celebrating gymnasts, coaches, officials, and volunteers
involved in gymnastics. Finalists and Winners will be recognised at the Family Ball and
Awards Night.

Nomination Process Technical Committee Awards – As determined by the Technical Committee General Awards – Awards winners will be determined by 50% Club/TC vote (one vote per TC) and 50% Awards Committee vote. Criteria for Awards
As per below plus be assessed on how the nominee has reflected GV’s values of Leadership, Teamwork, Respect, Excellence and Integrity

Participated in Gymnastics in Victoria in 2015
Nominations Process
Nominations will be accepted from GV Affiliated Clubs, GV Board, Technical Committees, GV staff, member parents, registered gymnasts, other community organisations and anyone else associated with Gymnastics Victoria Affiliated Clubs;
Clubs and Members are encouraged to nominate themselves in categories where they feel they have achieved success;
Nominations must be received by GV no later than the COB on the closing date;
Nominations must be received through the online nomination form available on the GV website;
Information regarding nominees be submitted to Gymnastics Victoria as per the requirements including a statement of up to 250 words supporting their nomination (this will be used by clubs and the awards committee for assessing candidates);
Where a large amount of nominees are nominated for any particular award the Awards Committee may shortlist before putting forward to those eligible to vote.

Selection Process
Awards winners (excluding Technical Committee Awards and further awards noted below) will be determined by:
o 50% Club/TC (one vote per TC) vote; and o 50% Awards Committee vote

2015 Club of the Year A Gymnastics Victoria perpetual award to be presented to the club which best promotes and demonstrates positive values, is responsive to community and social needs and provides opportunities for participation and involvement in gymnastics. This award is available each year and will be presented to the club which best meets these criteria. Nominees will be the winners from the Small, Medium and Large Club Awards. The winning club will receive:

Must be coaching gymnasts at any of the following level/event: o Victorian State Team o National Events sanctioned by Gymnastics Australia o International Events sanctioned by FIG

2015 Volunteer of the Year The Nominee: Further to the criteria noted on page 2:
Is recognised for their significant and invaluable contribution to a gymnastics club, gymnastics event or the wider gymnastics community.
2015 Official of the Year The Nominee: Further to the criteria noted on page 2:
Is designated as either a Judge or Administrator
Can be nominated from any of the following sports; Gymnastics for All, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Aerobic Gymnastics, Trampoline Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics or Cheerleading
2015 Inclusive Initiative of the Year Gymnastics Victoria in conjunction with VicHealth have initiated an award to be presented to the club which best promotes and demonstrates positive inclusion practices, which can be applied to any underrepresented group within the sport of gymnastics. Showing practical and responsive actions to changing community and social needs and provides opportunities for participation and involvement in gymnastics. This award is available each year for the duration of VicHealth funding for inclusion and will be presented to the club which best meets the criteria set out below. The Nominee: Further to the criteria noted on page 2 will meet the following criteria:
Original creative approach
Flexibility (can operate in different settings)
Portability (can be replicated in other clubs/situations)
Sustainability of initiative
The extent to which the initiative may be considered noteworthy.
The length and degree of the initiative.
The degree to which the initiative has made sustainable or meaningful contributions to the community.
The extent to which the initiative might be considered above and beyond the call of duty.
The extent to which the nominees’ initiative is recognised by peers. Considerations:
The selection panel will be cognisant of the relative size of the nominating clubs/groups and their local environment.
Clubs can win in consecutive years but must be for different initiatives.
The winning club will receive:

2015 Inclusive Leader of the Year Gymnastics Victoria in conjunction with Sport and Recreation Victoria have initiated an award to be presented to the person which best promotes and demonstrates positive inclusion practices and leadership, which can be applied to any underrepresented groups (people with disability, lower socio-economic community members, Aboriginal Victorians, older adults and newly arrived migrant and refugees) within the sport of gymnastics. Advocating practical and responsive actions to changing community and social needs and provides opportunities for underrepresented groups to participate and increase their involvement in gymnastics. This award is available each year for the duration of Sport and Recreation Victoria’s funding for inclusion and will be presented to a person which best meets the criteria set out below. The Nominee: Further to the criteria noted on page 2 will meet the following criteria:
Lead people from underrepresented groups to engage in Gymnastics
Advocate for inclusive change
Encourages flexible opportunities across a variety of settings
The length and degree of leadership
The degree to which the leader has made sustainable or meaningful contributions to the community
The extent to which the leader goes above and beyond the call of duty.
The extent to which the leader is recognised by peers. The winning nominee will receive:

Service Award To recognise volunteer personnel who, through their personal contribution, have enhanced the development of Gymnastics Victoria. Approximately 10 Service Awards to be bestowed in any year with each discipline allowed a maximum of three Awards. The GV Chair will determine the exact number of awards in any year after consideration of submissions. An even spread of awards across all disciplines and activities at all levels of GV is preferred. There is no limit to the number of times an individual can be nominated.
The Nominee: Further to the criteria noted on page 2 will meet the following criteria:
Any person, past or present, which has made a significant contribution to any branch at any level of GV resulting in the progress and development of Gymnastics (Full time employees of GV are not eligible except in the event that they fill a voluntary role outside the role in which they are employed).
Considerations:
The length of time given to the contribution and/or service
The quality of impact the contribution has made to GV
The number of people the contribution has affected
Nominations Process Nominations will be accepted from Clubs, GV Board, and Technical Committees
Selection Process Service Awards will be decided by the GV Board.
