The pollution of water resources by lead compounds is a serious ecological problem, especially in industrially developed regions.

Commonly, the level of total lead content in atmospheric precipitations usually ranges from 1 to 50 μg/l, but in areas with intensive industry can reach up to 1 000 μg /l.

Increasing of lead concentration in underground water is causing serious problems concerning drinking water supply in some locations in Middle Asia.

Exceeding of the MPC of lead in drinking water (10 μg/l ) in Canada, Europe and some regions of Russian Federation is fixed

Based on the results of this study one- and multicartridge filters for water purification from lead were designed. Filters include either disposable ones for domestic application or industrial installations with automatic regeneration with productivity up to 200 m3/h.
