  • DISSERTATION Dissertation for M.D. (Siddha) Course shall be submitted four months prior to the final year examination. The degree shall be awarded only on the approval of the dissertation. (1) Once the title of Dissertation accepted the student shall not be allowed to change the proposed scheme of works without prior sanction of the Vice-Chencellor. (2) Working for a dissertation should be well utilized for intensive study of relevant literatures, collecting notes, scientific data, experiments, Seminars, Conference and for its critical study. The dissertations must consist of the students own account of research. The Students should be able to re-express his/her observations and draw conclusions on the basis of the study of literatures in the field. (3) The dissertation should be suitable for its publication in an abridged form. (4) In no case, a paper written or published in joint names of two or more persons shall be accepted as dissertation. The study may, however, submit in support of his/her dissertation a published work of which he/she is the author or co-author. (5) The dissertation should contain at the end a summary of not more than 1500 words embodying the conclusions arrived at by the students. (6) The dissertations must be written on one side of the paper with a margin of 1 of either side and must be bound. On the outer cover, the title of the dissertation, the name of student, the name of the guide and the year of submission of the dissertation should be mentioned. The dissertation shall not ordinarily exceed 150 one sided typewritten pages and should not be less than 50 one sided paper including charts, Diagrams, Photograph, Bibliography etc., (7) The dissertation should be submitted during the third year of the examination of each Branch of the M.D (Siddha) Courses. The dissertation should be submitted four months prior to final year examination. (8) Four copies in Siddha with modern aspects of the dissertation together with a certificate from the Head of the Department must be submitted to the

  • University through the Principal of the College on or before the date prescribed for the submission. There shall be viva voce test on the subjects of dissertation comprising of 100 marks. (9) The dissertation shall be examined by the four Indian Medicine examiners. (10) The dissertation when accepted shall become the property of the University and permission to publish the same shall first be obtained from the University. In no case, it shall be published before it is accepted. (11) One copy of the accepted dissertation will be kept in the University Library, one in the concerned division and one copy for the guide. (12) If the dissertation is not approved or passed it will be returned to the students and the students can resubmit and appear for viva voce after complying with the observations made by the examiners.
