NEWS FROM THE SOCIAL CLUB
Dale Mathurin, President
As we start the holiday season it seems like one big blur of parties, dances and dinners. We start off the month with Koffee Klatch in the morning and Karaoke in the evening on the 3rd.
Remember November 6th is Election Day and the clubhouse will be closed to all social activities. It will also be closed on the 5th for voting set-up. Please VOTE on the 6th. It is very important to exercise your right to choose who you wish to represent you. Every vote counts.
We have a nice dance on the 10th called “An Evening of Song”. There will be some of the great oldies but goodies that we all love to dance to. We know you will have a lot of fun at this dance.
On the 11th, Veteran’s Day, Mike Breton will have a special movie honoring all the veterans. Bring a comfortable chair, drink & snack and enjoy the movie.
Our other big event for November is our Thanksgiving Dinner Dance on the 17th. Make sure you attend this great time of the year as we will have one of your favorite entertainment groups “Rivers Crossing” and catering by Felice. (Oh! What delicious food there will be!!). Koffee Klatch will be in the morning on the 17th.
As we all know the 22nd is Thanksgiving Day. Can you imagine the aroma emanating from the Village with all these dinners being cooked? That is what aroma therapy should be. It will be followed by the annual Craft Show on the 24th. This will be a good time to buy that special gift for someone close to you.
Note the new start time for Bunco, on the 12th & 26th, will be at 6:30pm.
In between these dances there will be Bingo every Wednesday as well as your favorite exercise programs.
Remember, in Gull Aire Village, retirement does not mean sitting around all the time watching TV. We have something for everyone’s interest. The younger crowd cannot hold a candle to the amount of activities we have in Gull Aire Village. Keep checking the bulletin board and the web site for any additions or changes.
I am looking forward to seeing you at our activities. Let’s all have fun together.

NOVEMBER 2018 MOVIE 0f The Month Date: Sunday, November 11, 2018
“Thank You For Your Service”
This is a movie that should be shown on Veteran’s Day, it is powerful and poignant. For Sergeant Adam Schumann (Mike Teller), and many soldiers like him, the process of leaving combat back in Iraq was as seemingly simple as getting on the airplane. But standing on the tarmac again in the arms of loved ones would turn out to be merely a first step in the long and exacting journey of returning home. “Thank You For Your Service” follows a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they left the battlefield. This movie is rated “R”.
Note: you may bring your own seating, complementary popcorn will be available.
