WINTER / SPRING

We would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE for their extremely generous contributions and donations to the various stalls at the Christmas Fair. We would also like to thank you all for attending the Fair itself, which raises around £1,500 each year for the Trust. The Trustees are a small group of volunteer parents who meet every half term along with teachers, to suggest new ideas to generate funds and generally improve the quality of experience for our children whilst at School. We welcome all suggestions from Parents so why not step forward and let us know of any ideas for future projects or fundraisers!

Painting The Millenium Garden

The Millennium Garden was organized by the

Trustees a few years ago. It is a peaceful area

around the back of the school where the children

can sit in shade amongst beautiful flowers and

away from the hectic games of football and ‘tick’.

As you can see from the image below, it is in need

of some much needed TLC. The Trustees and

FOGSS will be brightening up the area in the

coming weeks. Please spare us a few hours to help!

Friends Of Guilden Sutton School

“FOGSS” is a new initiative whereby parents, grandparents or children of the School can help decide how to improve various aspects of the school life or environment. If you have ideas and/or time to work alongside the Trustees please contact the school. Help us to spend the funds wisely and by donating some of your time, the funds will go further. Russell Dorricott has kindly taken the lead on this great project.

WE NEED YOUR BOTTLES!

We are going to build a

greenhouse like this one for the

Cultivation Station! We need to

collect 1,600 large bottles! 2 litre

ones are perfect. Please bring as

many as you can to the school

(empty please!). Look out for the

storage nets at school! F.O.G.S.S

Dates for the Diary

The Trustees have arranged for the

following fundraising events to take place

throughout the school year. These events

are only successful because of your great

and continued support!

Easter Coffee Morning Friday 27th March 2015 Bingo Night Thursday 11th June 2015 Summer Disco Summer term – to be confirmed) Quiz Night (Summer term – to be confirmed) Reminders will be sent out!

F.O.G.S.S Continued. We are currently looking for the next series of School projects to fund. After each Call In Friday join Russell and the Trustees for a coffee and to discuss your ideas. Miss Crowe is also available for informal discussions. If you have any specialist skills or professions step forward! Some things we are looking into….

Finally….. The School and the Trustees rely on your kind participation at all of the events that take place throughout the year, to help fund the changes that we can make to our children’s’ education and experience of School life. We can do a lot more work if we can get a regular income of donations from parents and businesses.

For example, just £10 per family each year can

raise in excess of £2,000 for the Trust Fund.

With this in mind, if you would like to make a

contribution please see Mrs Frost at reception.

Thank you!

Best wishes,

The Trustees

Please don’t forget that if you work for a Company who match-fund, we would be very

grateful if you would apply on the School’s behalf for support. M&S Finance are one such company

who, with the help of parents who work there, have provided us with great contributions over the

last few years.
