Philips Healthcare & Israel
A splendid story of cross-fertilization
3
Bar mitzvah 13 years of successes
• Oct 2001, with the acquisition of Marconi, Philips expands its commercial activities in Israel to include Healthcare CT R&D and Industrial Foot Print.
Earlier, Marconi acquired the CT Business of Elscint, a Healthcare Technological icon of modern Israel. • Between 2000 and 2003, Philips doubled the size and scope of its Healthcare business
through approximately EUR 5 billion in acquisitions to position the company as a global player in this market. o ATL Ultrasound (1998), o ADAC Laboratories (Nov. 2000), o Agilent Technologies Healthcare Solutions Group (Nov. 2000), o And that was just a start.
• Why Elscint? Because thanks of a unique Detector Technology, called Multislice , Elscint
reinvented CT to allow novel clinical applications including Cardiac Applications.
