GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCTION OF THE PRE SYNOPSIS
The following guidelines should be followed for the conduction of the pre synopsis:
1. The date of pre synopsis should be intimated to the Directorate of Research
(DoR) 10 days before the conduction.
2. The members should be invited for conduction of pre synopsis:
a) Dean of respective Faculty
b) Director of the School
c) Head of the Department
d) DRC Committee members
e) SDC Committee members (With External Member)
f) Any representative of the Directorate of Research
g) All research scholars or faculty members of the school
Note: No pre synopsis should be conducted in absence of any members: Dean,
Director, HoD, DoR Representative and DRC members (at least 3 members).
3. Dept. PhD Coordinator should ensure the correct format of the attendance
sheet and comments sheet to be filled and submitted within two days to the
PhD Office along with the pre synopsis copy. Final copy of synopsis to be
submitted after all corrections suggested by members.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF THE SYNOPSIS
1. The submission of the SYNOPSIS will be as follows:
2. The synopsis should be submitted in the specific format. (Annexure 1).
3. Title of Synopsis/Thesis should be same as approved at the time of Final
Research Proposal submission. If any changes are required, SDC, DRC
recommendations are required which needs to be approved by DoR and will
be reported in the URC.
4. No submission should be directly given to the PhD office without relevant
documents.
5. The synopsis should be submitted by the concerned department within 15 days
from day of conduction pre synopsis in the desired format.
6. The front page of synopsis (Annexure 2) should be specific format.
7. The check list as per (Annexure 3) should be verified by the Departmental PhD
Coordinator before submitting the synopsis.
8. Follow the correct font style, font size and format of the front page (Annexure
2).

GUIDELINES FOR VERIFICATION OF THE THESIS
1. The verification of the THESIS will be as follows:
1. The thesis should be submitted as per the guidelines of MUJ PhD rules and
regulations. The front page (Annexure 4) and certificate of the candidate and
supervisor (Annexure 5) should be in the specified format.
2. The examiner list as per the MUJ guidelines should be duly signed and verified
by Supervisor, Head of Department, Director of School and Dean of Respective
faculty before sending to the Directorate of Research. The examiner list should
base on the specialization.
3. Supervisors are responsible to provide the correct details of the examiners in
the prescribed format. (Annexure 6).
4. Supervisors are responsible to check the format.
5. The check list as per (Annexure 7) should be verified by the departmental PhD
Coordinator before submitting the thesis.
6. Once verified the candidate must submit the form (Annexure 7) along with 4
soft bound thesis, 2 CDs of the thesis in .pdf format/ or through email to PhD
office in .pdf format, No dues form, thesis submission fee receipt, Plagiarism
Certificate ( Annexure 8)to the PhD Section.
7. Before submission of soft bound thesis, submit the .doc/.pdf format of the thesis
to the DoR for the plagiarism check. After getting the approval from DoR,
candidate can submit soft bound thesis.
8. The thesis should be submitted on\before 3 months of the date of submission
of synopsis.
9. Follow the correct font style, font size and format of the front page (Annexure
2).
10. Do not include name of school, designation of the Guide.

The synopsis will not be accepted if it does not contain the above sections.
