Applicants can only use blank places on the pages of the question booklet as draft. Applicants are strictly forbidden to write the questions and / or their answers on a separate piece of paper and take it out. EÜ-ÖDEM can audio and video record in exam buildings / rooms during the exam. These recordings can be regarded as evidence when necessary. In addition to the minutes of the examiners, audio and video recordings can be deemed as evidence for detection of breach of exam rules and the exams of the applicants detected to have violated the rules are canceled.

Ege University Representatives can visit the exam halls and, if necessary, they can re-check the Admission documents and identity cards during the exam.

5. EVALUATION OF EXAM RESULTS Applicants’ performances in EGEYÖS are evaluated based on the following processes and

criteria.

5.1. Optical Test Grading

5.1.1. Answer sheet of any applicant will be double checked by the optical reader.

5.1.2. Correct, incorrect and blank answers of the applicants in tests will be determined separately for each subtest.

5.1.3. EÜ-ÖDEM Administration board decides whether a question is correct or not through analyses, investigations and expert opinions after the exam. Thus, any question considered as invalid will be omitted from the test and the test results will be evaluated and finally scored according to the number of the remaining questions.

5.2. Calculation of EGEYÖS Score

5.2.1. Correct and incorrect answers in Reasoning and Mathematics tests will be counted separately to calculate the YÖS score.

5.2.2. “Raw scores” for Reasoning and Mathematics subtests are obtained by subtracting one fourth of the number wrong answers from the number of correct answers.

5.2.3. For the Reasoning and Mathematics subtests, the average and the standard deviation of the raw scores of all candidates whose exams are valid are calculated separately,

and the raw scores are converted into the Reasoning and Mathematics Standard Points (SP) for each candidate by using the following equation.

SP = 10 Xi − X

S + 50

SP : The applicant’s standard score

Xi : Applicant’s raw score

X : Arithmetic mean of raw scores

S : Standard Deviation of raw scores

5.2.4. Upon these standard scores, three weighted scores (WS) are calculated for each candidate: Reasoning, Mathematics and Equiponderant scores.

5.2.5. The weights of each subtest in calculation of the weighted scores are given below.

Score Type Reasoning Test Mathematics Test

EGEYÖS Reasoning Score 0,75 0,25

EGEYÖS Mathematics Score 0,25 0,75

EGEYÖS Equiponderant Score 0,50 0,50

5.2.5. After the EGEYOS standard scores are calculated, these scores are converted into “Placement Score” (PS) in three score types as Reasoning, Mathematics and Equiponderant scores over 100 through the following equation.

YP = 70 +30[2(SP − X) − S]2(SPmax − X) − S

SP : Standard score ı 𝑋𝑋 : Arithmetic mean of the standard score S : Standard deviation of the standard score SPmax : The biggest standard score in the standard score distribution

5.2.6. EGEYÖS Results Document covers information on the number of correct, incorrect answers, total number of questions answered, number of unanswered questions for both substests together with Reasoning, Mathematics and Equiponderant scores and the percentile of the applicant .

5.2.7. Applicants’ optical forms and answer panels from the optical reader are stored by EÜ-ÖDEM for 10 years.
