INTERNATIONAL COMPARISON

The majority of the students in the schools of the project in Slovenia, Spain and Turkey think you can get addicted to the Internet and most of them know someone who uses it too much. Generally, they agree that there are better ways to spend their free time besides the internet: meeting friends, playing sports, etc.

Most of the students uses the Internet every day. They essentially used for social networking, entertainment (music, movies) and computer games. Less than half of students uses the Internet for studying, reading or looking for useful information.

Parents are worried about any kind of effects of media on their children’s health and development and impacts of any type of media on children’s behaviour. They would like to obtain more pieces of information about helping their children to think critically about media.

Students have also suggested different solutions to the problem of internet addiction.
