The Language of the Subconscious Mind

• Subconscious is recognized as the source of • creativity, • intuition, • inspiration, • inner knowing, • interconnectedness,• spiritual enlightenment.

• In subconscious realm• reality shifts and expands,• create a matrix that is far

more elastic and multi-dimensional than is perceived by the conscious mind.

• The symbols and archetypes are • essential elements of the

collective unconscious• the universal intra-psychic

structuring device innate to humans

Metaphors and Archetypes

• Metaphor comes from Greek words methapherein, and metaphora that means to transfer

• a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.

• a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract.

• Archetypes are universal, archaic patterns and images that derive from the collective unconscious and are the psychic counterpart of instinct according to Jungian psychology.

• They are inherited potentials which are actualized when they enter consciousness as images or manifest in behavior on interaction with the outside world.

• Unclear underlying forms or the archetypes-as-such from which emerge images and motifs such as the mother, the child, the trickster, and the flood among others.
