First Year All full-time students study three subjects which they choose from those listed. These are given in

the table below. Any combination of three subjects may be chosen with the exception of the a few

combinations which occupy the same timetable slot e.g. English Literature and Multimedia.

Each first year subject consists of two Level 1 modules, one of which is taught in each semester. All full-

time students take three modules each semester one from each of their three subjects. For example, a

student studying Creative Writing (CW). English Literature (LT) and Journalism Studies (JS) and will take

CC1101, CC1301 and CC1501 in Semester A, and CC1102, CC1302 and CC1703 in Semester B.

Students take a Study Skills module in one of their subjects in their first semester. Students can elect to
