ABOUT VALENTINE SCHOOL DAYSOver the past two years, the Valentine Th eatre has developed School Days,

an educational theatre outreach program for area elementary and High School student students. Carrying on the tradition of Lourdes University’s Th eater Vision, which began 28 years ago, School Days has welcomed over over 10,000 students to participate in professional theatre touring productions at the historic Valentine Th eatre.

Our children’s programs tie to popular and award-winning children’s books, which make them an approachable avenue to engage young children in literacy and early reading. Reading profi ciency is a signifi cant problem in Toledo, in particular, and the region as a whole. Teachers need innovative opportunities to engage children in reading to address a region falling behind in reading and literacy. Valentine Th eatre School Days is the only performing arts program in Northwest Ohio that links to Ohio’s Common Core Standards.

Your corporate and private donations will have a positive educational impact on approximately 9,000 elementary students that will attend during the 2015-16 school year. If you would like to donate to Th e Valentine Th eatre’s School Days program, please contact Jori Jex or Matt Lentz at Th e Valentine Th eatre, 419/242-3490. Th ank you!
