2021 NOVEMBER GUEST SPEAKER LAUREN DUNGY NOVEMBER 18th, JOY LUNCHEON Lauren Dungy has been a vibrant part of the Tampa Bay landscape since arriving here in 1996. As wife and mother of eleven children, she certainly is busy at home! However, because of her passion for the community and her love for people, Lauren is involved in a number of charitable projects. These activities revolve around Christian outreach, children, and education - especially Adoption and Foster Care. Lauren is a member of Grace Family Church where she is heavily involved in community outreach through The First Impressions Ministry. She also serves as a Bible study discussion leader, and works with a women’s small group dedicated to fellowship and evangelism through physical fitness. One of Lauren’s greatest passions is helping children. Along with her work at church, Lauren is involved with Moms and Kids for Christ, a women’s group that helps children educationally and spiritually. Lauren and her husband Tony are co-authors of twelve children’s books, beginning with You Can Be A Friend – released in 2011 – which made the New York Times best-seller list and also received an NAACP Image Award in 2012. Tony and Lauren also co-authored Uncommon Marriage, a book detailing how they have utilized Christian principles in their marriage, and which also made the New York Times best-seller list. As a former elementary school teacher, education is very important to Lauren. She is Vice-President of The Dungy Family Foundation which helps meet educational, social, and spiritual needs by raising funds and awareness of those in need in her community. She was integral in the launch of the Foundation’s Reading Program which weekly visits elementary schools and community centers to read and donate
books. With The Dungy Family Foundation, she leads a new project for 400 families in
Tampa called We See You which helps them four times a year: starting the school year, Christmas, Easter, and ending the school year. Lauren serves on the Board of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital; volunteers at Tampa Bay schools; and speaks at area churches, women’s events, and other fundraisers. Born Lauren Harris in Sewickley PA, Lauren graduated from Quaker Valley High School. She earned her college degree from Duquesne University in Elementary Education and then taught school in her hometown for six years. While teaching, she met her husband, Tony Dungy, then an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. He would go on to be the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Indianapolis Colts. Football would take them from Pittsburgh to Kansas City to Minneapolis and finally to Tampa! The Dungy’s are the parents of daughters Tiara, Jade, and Jaela – and sons Jamie, Eric, Jordan, Justin, Jason, Jalen, Jaden, and Juewel. WELCOME TO THE JOY LUNCHEON, LAUREN!

MUSICAL GUESTS AT NOVEMBER JOY LUNCHEON KEITH AND HEATHER BRICKELL
Keith and Heather Brickell have been at Idlewild Baptist Church since 2014. Keith is from the Boston, Massachusetts area and Heather is from Terre Haute, Indiana. Both came to know Christ at young ages and are thankful for the miraculous ways He has guided them throughout their lives. Keith attended Pensacola Christian College, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business there, and later received a Master’s Degree at Regent University.
Today his position is Business Director of an important global-wide company. Before that he served for almost 20 years in music ministry roles. Currently he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Idlewild Foundation. Heather earned a college degree in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College and is now teaching in this area. At Idlewild, they are both busy helping Bible Fellowship groups function well, and are extremely active members in the Worship Choir and a Praise Team. They also thoroughly enjoy participating in our wonderful Christmas presentations! Keith and Heather were married in Pensacola, Florida in 2000, have had 21 very happy years of marriage, and been blessed with two fine sons: Drew (15) and Brady (8). They are a very loving Christian family who likes to travel and attend sports together in their spare time!
