Yes, you can love your homeDecember is almost here, and were already seeing the signs and hearing the sounds of Christmas in stores across the GTA.
Its the time of year that many people want to entertain and decide to rethink their dcor. Its always festive to add that holiday feel to a home so be sure to read Erica Gelmans advice on decorating your home beyond the tree.
If youre planning a visit to dcor shops for some quick-fix items such as pillows, bedding and various knick-knacks just before company comes, youre not alone. Its the quickest way to get into the spirit of things. And with the added company during the holidays, check out Evelyn Eshuns article on how to create the perfect guest room.
If youre planning a renovation, BILD CEO and President Bryan Tuckey advises that this is the best time to plan one successfully for next spring. A rushed renovation project can go sour because of poor planning, high expectations or too much of a tight timeline and budget.
Creating a home you love doesnt happen overnight. It can take months and even years yes, years! Ultimately, the homeowners have taken their time and enjoyed the process of selecting just the right furnishings and finishes, over time, on budget, and with spectacular results.
I hope you will let us know what you think of this issue of Home Dcor & Renovations. Thanks to all of you who have written to us. Check out this months Mailbag page for details.
