December 10, 2013 Dear Parents, We are still hopeful that the iPad mini with Retina display will be available in Korea before the end of the year. In order to assist you in purchasing your iPad, the following table tells you what the deadlines, specifications and procedures will be for your fourth or fifth grader’s family-owned iPad. If you have a situation that is not covered in the table below, please feel free to contact me at montgomeryr@gsis.sc.kr.

Purchasing a new iPad in Korea

● iPads are required to be purchased through the GSIS Tech Office.

● You will be required to purchase an iPad mini or an iPad mini with Retina display (the newest iPad mini) that has at least 32 GB of storage.

● An order form, including new models and prices, will be emailed to you as soon as they become available.

● Orders will be due on Friday, January 10. ● You will be required to purchase Apple Care Protection Plan at

the same time as your iPad.

Purchasing a new iPad outside of Korea

● You may purchase an iPad mini or iPad mini with Retina display in your home country if you wish.

● It should have at least 32 GB of storage. ● You will be required to purchase Apple Care Protection Plan

when you purchase the iPad mini or iPad mini retina.

Already have an iPad?

● If you already have an iPad that is an iPad 2 or newer and it has 32 GB of storage or more, please stop by to see Mr. Ward in the Tech Office during school hours for him to approve your device.

● Please be aware that there are some features of the new iPads that will not be available on the iPad 2.

Apps ● The app list will be available on the GSIS iPad site by Friday, December 13.

이미 iPad 를 가지고 있는 경우

• 이미 iPad 2 혹은 최신 모델로 32GB 이상 사양의 iPad 를 가지고 있는 경우에는 수업 시간 중에 Tech office 에 들르셔서 Mr.Ward 에게 사용 가능한 기기인지 확인을 받으시기 바랍니다.

• 새로운 iPad 의 몇 가지 특징 기능들은 iPad 2 에서는 가능하지 않을 수 있다는 점을 알아주시기 바랍니다.

Apps App 리스트는 12 월 13 일, 금요일 부터 GSIS iPad 사이트에서 확인 가능합니다.
