Government Science College, Bengaluru was established in the year 1921 as “Intermediate College” by His Highness Sri Nalvadi

Krishnaraja Wodeyar, King of Mysuru. The College has now emerged as Autonomous and is a College with Potential for Excellence in

the Second Phase and is also DST – FIST Supported. The institution has been envisioned as a 'Model College' for all the Government

Colleges in the State. Great Patriots, Civil Servants, Administrators, Educationists and Great Politicians, Poets and other eminent

personalities have walked through the portals of this institute as students. The NAAC Peer team in the year 2016 has assessed the

quality and the standard of education in this institution and has awarded A+ grade with CGPA of 3.54 out of 4 in the third cycle. The

college is offering seven Post Graduate Programmes in Biotechnology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Botany and

Zoology. Three Departments Biotechnology, Mathematics, Chemistry have been Recognized as Research Centers.
