* There are a lot of Olympic Champions, World and Europe Champions in our country. They set records, get medals, and we are proud by rights of them. Also we arrange a celebration in honour of these people, glorify their great services for our Motherland.

*But there are people who are not known so much but who do a lot for Russian sports, for sports education of our youth. And we must be proud of them too. My homeland is a small town in Tver region. In this town Aleksey Gruzdev lives whom I’d like to tell you about.

* Aleksey was born in 1975 and he was keen on martial arts in the 90s. Since 1990 till 2002 Aleksey was taught by Master Nikonchuk S. Being carried away by this kind of sports he attended trainings and seminars in Moscow. In 2002 Aleksey got a blue belt and he was entitled an instructor.

* Nowadays, Aleksey is an engineer. He works at a plant. Aleksey is also married and has two nice sons. But after work he is an instructor of Choy School – U Thaung Din style. This is one of multiple branches of the School existing in Russia. Several years ago his elder son joined his School.

* The motto of the School is “Discipline. Spirit. Knowledge. Silence.” It’s the motto of Aleksey too. Not only in sport but in his life. It’s necessary to say that martial arts isn’t a way of self-defense, first it’s philosophy of his life, the way to lead a healthy life, to prolong his life. Aleksey teach his adopts to comply with this philosophy.

* About 30pupils trust him and proud of him. Every year they take part in various competitions and become winners in several weight divisions. In 2012 our local team won the first team place.I believe it’s great that thanks to Aleksey Gruzdev 30 boys and girls don’t spend their free time watching TV or playing computer games but they go in for sports!!!
