From Fr. Mark Mertes, Pastor:
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice.
Indeed the Lord is near. (Philippians 4.4-5) Entrance antiphon for Sunday of
Third Week of Advent Indeed the Lord is near! Let us discover Jesus’ saving presence as we: Enjoy the 3 burning candles of your home
Advent wreath; at each meal share a high point and a low point of the day.
Join the School of Faith’s daily rosary at www.dailyrosary.net.
Come share daily Advent Eucharist. Use shopping and gift wrapping times as Ad-
vent moments. Ask your family (or yourself): “How has Jesus come to me as gift today?”
Keep enjoying Advent music. ….. I suggest Advent music from the “Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles,” Gower, MO.
Make plans to attend our Parish Advent Rec-onciliation Service on Monday night, Decem-ber 23 at 7:00 pm in the church. We will have several priests in attendance.

Prior to Thanksgiving, students at St. Patrick School conducted a food drive. Specific items were requested to complement menus served at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen by the Social Concerns Ministry. With the help of Principal Tim Conrad, a goal of 400 items was set. Our generous school families exceeded
the goal, collecting well over 700 items! Thank you to the students for these items, and to eighth grade students who continue to come in small groups to help serve those in need.
