• How to play the game:• Match each noun with its description and
example.• E.g.• Noun: Description: Example.
What is a noun?
• There are four types of noun:• Common: an object you can see or touch,
e.g. pen, table, car.• Abstract: thoughts, ideas, qualities or
emotion, e.g. peace, anger, truth.• Collective: one word indicating a collection
of people or objects, e.g. group, herd, queue.
• Proper: an individual name; a place a person or an object, e.g. Birmingham, Jane, Tower of London.
What is an adjective?
• An adjective (underlined) is a describing word. It tells us what a noun is like:
• Old book,• Sensible child,• Smelly socks.

• Aim of the game:• Individually, write down as many adjectives
you can think of, in 3 minutes, to describe a peacock.
